This was just sold for 4k

when folks talk about mateba they usually refer to the unica series, but little did the realize the real gem the super rare MTR-8

The Mateba MTR-8 was designed by the same guy that made the Chappa Rhino.

The Mateba MTR-8 sold for that becuase he created it on a dare and ONLY 10 ever made it the USA.

I think it is cool, Work of engineering for sure. but it was obsolete the day it came off the bench.

That gun is wrong in so many ways it's hard to know where to start. It's most useful purpose would be a prop in the next Star Wars movie...

wow what a pointless design, sacrifice 2" of barrel length just to move the cylinder in front of the trigger guard. Must be top heavy too.

So, it was made for shooting competition, as far as I can understand. It was useless, it appears to me, for any other purposes. Obviously, it was useless for target competition as well, because if it would have won matches, it would still be in production.

If the people who designe it had sold every single one for $4k, they still would probably have lost money just on design and set up costs alone.

That looks like it was a really bad idea.
