This turned out great!

I have a 4" barrel, .357 GP-100 for my house gun and I keep it in my bedside table drawer. Up to this point, I just had it laying on a towel and I always thought this position would make it difficult to quickly arm myself in case an intruder came through. I decided to make this "drawer holster" that now holds it upright against the drawer front and at an angle that would facilitate rapid deployment. I also constructed a spring loaded "paddle" (that uses a spring hinge meant for screen doors) that holds the gun firmly in place to prevent movement during drawer manipulation, but will still allow easy removal. I contact-cemented leather to any surfaces the gun would contact to prevent scratches and such. What do you think?

There you go! Always good to see someone with an evil mind
like mine to come up with something useful for a good cause.
Hope you never have to employ it one dark night, but if you
have to, there s'nothin like being prepared. Good job.

NICE!!!

I've got a little different aproach. My sp101 sits in an uncle mikes pocket holster sandwiched between the box spring and matress.

Theory is I can access the gun from under the covers without anyone seeing me move at all. I sleep on my stomach, so I just slide my hand down and slide it out.

Not feasible for someone with small children, but works for me.

Gunner thinking: "Attomcia and Ben S. need to take their night stand and matresses to the range and practise their quick draw. "

Maybe the next Olympic sport ... in the furniture division!

P.S. Nice work Attomcia .. I like it.

Thanks for the input, guys. I was just excited, as anyone would be, that the design and execution of this project exceeded my expectations.

Hmm, Olympic Furniture Division? I'm in!
