This military collection is more than impressive

Wow

That's about all I can say. I want a machine gun! I don't want to end up on a street corner with a sign stating Will work for ammo. Thus I don't have a machine gun.

I really am in awe of this collection/museum. The fact that everything functions is really amazing. I don't think I would want to be the fire department that responded if the place went up though....:D

Holy Cow, can you imagine just the legal obstacles to be able to do this.
What a show, and he says it's open to the public on Sundays.
Wonder where it actually is??

It is in the southeast portion of Colorad Springs, about 10miles outside of the city limits which is pretty much just high plains.

How about security? It does not look like it is even close to a city/town police force. A semi and a gang could waltz away. :(

Pretty cool stuff he has but that article is a rough read. If I read that correctly he got his wife killed while filming a trailer for a reality series.

Truly amazing! One thing that puzzles me though, is the amount of old, live explosives on site. Some of that stuff becomes unstable over time. Old dynamite will "sweat" nitroglycerin, and can go off at the snap of your fingers... literally.

But the guy obviously knows his stuff, which leads me to believe that some of his collection has to be inert.

I was thinking about the same thing.

Can't be all live... if it was, I wouldn't leave it with belts of ammunition loaded in guns.

Yeah, wow. I had intended to just "pop in" and see what he had. Before I knew it the whole 20 minute video was over...

That's what happened with me as well Ruger. My soon to be father in law sent me the link and I was captivated through the whole 20min. Some of the collection is certainly a bit disturbing but very important and interesting history nonetheless.

I love the photo of him holding the 106 Recoilless rd,
and to his right, mounted on the the jeep is the recoilless rifle,
and 50 cal Single shot spotting rifle.

The short 50 cal spotting case has the same trajectory as the 106 rd,
shoot the 50 cal with tracers, when they landed on target,
launch the 106 rd, direct hit.

I loved the Beehive rd,
when we did the road clearing detail, looking for booby traps/land mines etc,
from the FB, down to the main Hiway, the road clearing crew was always taking sniper fire, from the ridge lines that lined the the dirt road
between the FB and Hwy, about 6 miles.

Swing the 106 to the area, fire a couple of 50 rds,
touch off the 106 and timed BEE hive rd and the sniper fire would stop. :D

After several times of doing this, the sniper fire ceased..........

You just have to SEE the damage of the BEE Hive rd creates,
UNREAL.......

See here for info on the Bee Hive rd,

Aside from the fact that it really is an unbelievable private collection. I can't believe a rational person would have live hand grenades and other explosives within arms reach of the public.

If you read the article posted about him he doesn't sound like a rational person. Or it could be the writer's bias coming through. I think maybe it's a combination of both.

Here another rather long but interesting article about him.

Only semi auto's I've ever owned have been 22 rifle's and a few handguns. At this time I have no desire to have a full auto firearm. If the time come's I need one, I'll shoot the enemy and take his. But that collection is really impressive! I can't imagine how much he's got into them! I wonder what the guy has for nice sporter rifle's, of course I'm referring to bolt actions! Wonder how far out the guy live's? Bet if he were to be bothered by thief's they would be well educated thief's knowing exactly what they were after and know when the best time's are to invade. Makes me think. He's got to have an armory to keep the stuff in. I didn't watch the whole film, did he show it and how he protect's it?

After Charleton Heston died I saw a photo of part of his collection. No where as much as this guy's but impressive just the same. Lot of full auto guns in it.
