Makers/Dealers/Consumers in violation of anti-trust laws (Smith boycott) ???
http://www.newsday.com/ap/national/ap467.htm

Apparently, it's OK for the gov't, municipalities, HUD, etc. to collude with the help of taxpayer funded lawyers to drive targeted companies out of business, but it's not OK for dealers & consumers to choose who they do business with ?!

You evidently misunderstand new law. It is perfectly acceptable to take your money and support some other commercial entity that you happen to agree with. Only problem is you have to support the NAACP and you can only exercise that right only in South Carolina. If however, you do not support the NAACP and you happen to purchase a handgun, then that is considered restraint of trade.

I wonder if the number of supporters of the NAACP purchasing handguns has dropped since the boycott. Not to worry, they can just drive across the state line and purchase their handguns in North Carolina or Georgia.

Ignorance can be cured, stupidity is forever.

Didja notice in all of these mainstream articles they left off the parts about how S&W's deal affects all the distributors & manufacturers? Like the parts that tell all S&W distributors what they should and shouldn't be selling and how, including non-S&W products?

I don't think the media just missed that part of the agreement, I think they're conciously not pointing it out. "The other manufacturers just won't agree to be responsible like S&W" Makes me ill.

Dave,
I have noticed that also! I have yet to see an article in the mainstream press about this agreement that goes beyond the more benign aspects such as the trigger locks and smart gun development.
None of the onerous restrictions that doing business with S&W would require have ever been mentioned.

Look up 'fascism' in the dictionary ... we're getting closer.

I like that they included the lie from Shultz. He claims only two dealers and no distributors dropped out and a couple of paragraphs later RSR, a distributor, decided to stop dealing with S&W on their own.
