Yeah, i'm not proud but i'm not sure how to use the bead sight on my maverick 88. I'm hoping you shotgun guys could help me out. I cant shoot targets because I only shoot at my friends house and shooting anything but clay pigeons requires us to set up a steel plate(a very heavy and cumbersome steel plate) basically, I need to know is after i align the rear and front beads, do i overlap my target w/ the bead or rest the target on the bead?

Usually you align the beads in a figure 8 and place the target on top of the front bead.

This works if the gun fits you properly, you should check out the gun fit.

Buy some of those large paper targets with the clay in the middle. Fix to a frame ( old wood pallet will do). Shoot from 16 yards and check where the center of the pattern falls from the center of the target. Adjust your sight picture accordingly. Use "Kentucky Windage" to center the pattern. You may find that you may have to hold on the target differently, eg; high or low or to the right.
