This is beginning to concern me, a lot.

This is beginning to concern me, a lot.

At first I genuinely believed the liberals would whine and cry, moan, bitch and fuss (as they usually do). The recount would substantiate the initial results; a G.W. win and they would go away, whining as they departed the building.

With a good number of major news papers (liberal papers I might add) calling this “perilous” and “treacherous”, several senior Democrat Senators coming out against it you would believe the Gore camp would shut up and sneak out under the cover of darkness.

But what happens? How do they respond? The Gore camp attacks their very own party scolding them for publicly speaking out against their actions and sending more lawyers to Florida.

They demand recount after recount after recount and then Bill Daley himself said and I quote him, “We will not be satisfied by the outcome of any number of recounts unless Al Gore is awarded the Presidency”.

What the F**K is that about? Anyone ever heard of the Constitution? Or does it not matter anymore? Are you liberals actually willing to challenge the Constitution in court, is that you intention?

Folks this is absolutely outrageous here; we need to stay vigil and prepare for a very drawn out and lengthy battle. The liberals will not go quietly into the night; they will not go without taking, as may hostages as they can with them. They have stated in no uncertain terms, they are not leaving until Al Gore is President no matter what it costs including the utter destruction of our Constitution!

I urge you to call, do not write but call your Senators, Reps and Governors DEMANDING they sound off on this matter! We must speak with one voice; we must remain calm but ready to act accordingly. We must not allow the criminal activities of the current Administration or the Democratic Party to continue to recount the votes until they arrive at a number to their liking! This is unequivocally what is materializing right before our very eyes.

Are you paying attention America?

Al Gore will keep calling 'do-over' until he wins
by Howie Carr
Friday, November 10, 2000

Remember when Banana Republic was the name of a clothing store and not a description of the United States of America?

I mean, somebody should have told Al Gore - presidential elections are not best two out of three.

Now he wants a mulligan - for Florida!

Where is Jimmy Carter when you need him? Isn't he a monitor for disputed elections in the Third World?

Al Gore will take this election to the Supreme Court.

And if he loses there, next stop, the Hague.

He's like the rich kid on the playground who won't let you go home until he wins the game. And this is the same bum who told Slobo that he had to respect the results of the election and he couldn't have a "run-off" with the people he'd already lost to.

It's obvious what's going on here. Gore wants the counting to continue until he wins. It will never stop until he gets the result that he wants.

If he loses the recount today, then we hand-count the four counties. If he loses those recounts, then he'll demand more hand recounts. If he loses there . . .

Al Gore wanted to hire the slipperiest lawyer he could find. Unfortunately, Bill Clinton is being disbarred.

Did you see those demonstrators in West Palm and Tallahassee? Al Gore may have lost the election, but he can turn out a much bigger weekday crowd than the Republicans. The problem for George W. Bush is, his voters have jobs.

Now these pablum-pukers you haven't seen since impeachment - Bob Wexler, Greta van Susteren, Paul Begala - are all back on TV and this time their grift is a "revote."

Hey Al, here's how it works. You have a right to buy a scratch ticket. But if you lose, you don't get to go back to the agent and tell him you bought the wrong ticket and this time could he please sell you the winning ticket?

Al, everybody would like to have a second chance in life.

Take Tebucky Jones, the hapless Patriots' defensive back. He'd like a replay in the second Colts game so he can intercept that Peyton Manning pass he dropped in the end zone. Bobby Grier, the ex-Pats GM - he'd ask for a mulligan on the 1998 draft so he wouldn't be held responsible for drafting Tebucky Jones in the first round.

Bill Buckner would like to replay the bottom of a certain 10th inning of a baseball game in 1986.

I got a phone call yesterday. It was a wrong number. The guy was trying to call Pat Buchanan.

You know, there was one very simple way for Al Gore to avoid this whole embarrassment of having to steal the election. He could have won his ``home'' state of Tennessee. Eleven electoral votes added to the 260 he already has - bingo, as they say in Boca Raton.

Palm Beach County - that's where the residents of a certain retirement community are organizing a petition drive for the "revote." The place is called Century Village, apparently because everyone who lives there is at least 100 years old.

What a drag it is getting old. So many tough choices for the oldsters - Gore-Buchanan, gas pedal-brake, burial-cremation . . .

The Republicans ought to forget about their transition team. First you win, then you celebrate. They ought to be demanding recounts themselves - in Wisconsin, where the Democrats were bribing bums with cigarettes. What happened to those 68,000 ballots in New Mexico? The Gore margin in Wayne County in Michigan would have made Idi Amin gag.

You're not dealing with gentlemen, Dubya. The moment they win one of these recounts, they're going to demand that you drop out. And Geraldo, Greta, Doris, Eleanor, Bryant et al. will back them to the hilt.

This just in from noted political scientist Jenny McCarthy. No word on whether she was wearing any clothes when she made this statement, but here it is, verbatim, from ABC News: "I think that, there should be a revote, not just a recount. Um, the ballots were screwed up, they were mixing boxes. They're . . . I don't know, I just, I'm just really upset by it all. They better get their act together."

A revote? What a revolting development this is.

Two other Howie Carr columns to provide excellent reading, if you'll please. One is from Thursday: http://www.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/carr11092000.htm

and the other is from Wednesday: http://www.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/carr11082000.htm

This one was from last Sunday, and involved Dubya's "ticket:" http://www.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/carr11052000.htm

Where did you hear Bill Daley say "We will not be satisfied by the outcome of any number of recounts unless Al Gore is awarded the Presidency."
Can you provide a link?

I'm really starting to enjoy Howie Carr. The guy must have to wear body armor everyday in Boston ...

Friends, remember that the is manual recount crap is a trick. They're bound to find more votes in a manual recount, because the process isn't perfect ... someone doesn't punch the card all the way through, for example.

So, if you do a manual recount in a county that is mainly Republican, you'll likely find proportionately more votes for Bush than you will for Gore. And, in this case, the Gore camp only wants manual recounts in heavily Democratic counties. Wonder why? They'll find proportionately more Democratic votes.

Typical liberal BS. These people are scum.

Jeff Thomas, if the machines are so lousy that they come up with different numbers every time than they should do manual recounts in every county with outdated machines that miss ballots. It's atrocious that elections are decided by machines that, if you throw the ballots through 10 times, will come up with 7 different numbers. If you need a manual recount to actually count all the ballots, then do it. We have time.

IMHO, the move to challenge results is a good one because it's forcing states and counties to face up to their inaccurate systems. Systems exist that are far more accurate and if, say, Wisconsin finds out that the lousy systems in their counties caused a mis-count then hopefully the counties will switch systems.

I heard the Bill Daley comment, too. It was on Wednesday, and I heard it on CNN. He will not be satisfied until the will of the people and the will of Al Gore is allowed.

Contact my senator? You mean Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton? Cripes, forget these lawsuits and lawyers, let's just go straight to civil war---it beats working!

I heard it on CNN this morning. Evidently he said it yesterday sometime and it's being hashed over.

Hit CNN and just hang out, they'll play it again.

folkbabe, if you're right, and the machines cannot be trusted, then yes ... let's have manual recounts.

But, you'll need to do manual recounts in every county in Florida for this to be fair. Think about it. Doing manual recounts only in Democratic-majority counties is obviously bogus and unfair.

However, remember this - the counts have narrowed, but the answer keeps coming up the same, doesn't it? We should add the absentee vote tally to the count already achieved before we start manually recounting ballots.

Now we all get to watch individuals pawing FL ballots on TV. Nice. Probable vote fraud brought live, into our living rooms. And no, I don't trust the manual process. Nor do I trust the liberal scum involved.

The deadline for requesting hand counts is past, so it will only be these Dem counties that get recounted. I'm afraid this is all over but the shouting. It's President Gore.

If the GOP starts whining, I don't want to hear it; I'm tired of this. The Democrats have a take-no-prisoners orientation to politics, which comes from the labor unions and tradition of big city political machines. They register mental patients, the homeless, prisoners, dead people, anybody. The run buses to the polls and bribe people with food, cigarettes, "walking around" money, whatever. There is nothing new about this. In my state, they have watchers at the precincts with voter lists, check off who votes, and turn the lists into headquarters every couple of hours. Then they go out and round up their people who haven't voted or send somebody to vote in their place. This is called "Getting Out the Vote", and they are damned good at it. The GOP has a genteel, country club tradition, a great disadvantage. We had better wake up and see how this game is played when you are playing to win.

Such a statement by Daley should send a shockwave of outrage through the country. Anyone, Democrat or Republican, who loves America should feel revulsion over Daley's--and Gore's--dangerous zealotry. Even the media should take note of it. To what extent will this happen? Too little, I think.

Byron:

The Fix is In .. They outsmarted Bush and there is no way that the recounts will be done without an eye to supplying the extra votes. Done deal. The next four years are going to be political hell.

The fix is even easier than that. All Gore has to do is keep stalling until Dec 18. If there is no definite outcome by then, the electors meet without any Florida electors present. A majority of those present will elect the next president. Without Florida, Al Gore wins.
