Thinner shock buff than Wilson?

Does anyone make a thinner shock buff than Wilson offers? Yeah I'll give up some cusioning effect but gain some in functionality.

Red Heitt makes a 0.090 buff. I use them. Both my Kimbers will lock back with this buff, but you still can not sling shot it with these. IIRC, Wilson's are 0.105 thick.

You can order them from Brownell's.

I'm running a wilson shok buff in my 1911.
Went to an IDPA match... had no malfuntions all night. fired a hundred rounds with it. I think it does just fine... at least in a Springfield 1911 that is.

I've had no problems w/ Wilson's in my Colts. A buddy that has a custom Caspian uses them too w/ NO problems either.

You won't see problems with shok buffers until you use them in pistols with 4" or shorter barrels. The short 1911s don't have as much slide travel as a full-size Gov't, and the buffer takes up much-needed space. They seems to work okay in Commanders with their 4 1/4" barrel, but a Springfield Champion I once owned, plus a Colt Cofficers ACP both jammed frequently unless I left them out.

I like the Wilson Shock Buffs in my Kimber Gold Match 10mm but it does interfere with racking the slide into battery from slide lock. I want to make a practice of this action rather than using the slide stop/release lever. This is why I posed the question.

Sprinco USA, they make recoil reducers, has a shock buffer pad available in two thicknesses and each thickness is available in two durometers of hardness. You can mix, match, and stack to adjust to what works best in your gun. I have also found the Sprinco buffs to be more durable than the Wilson, they are not the same material.
