Thinking of trading my Ruger LCR for single-stack 9mm...

Eh, aiming, my lack of familiarity with revolvers, 5 shots and slower reloads compared to semi-autos. Those are the main ones I suppose.

...like a PF-9 or something. I'd be looking to stay within the same price range. What do you think?

Hmm. Really????

The PF9 can be had for a fair bit less than the LCR. Kel Tec warranty is explicitly to the original purchaser, so you'd have no warranty on that trade.

I could always sell the LCR and buy a new PF-9. Thanks for the tip. But I was just wondering what everyone thought about possibly replacing the LCR for something like that.

that's not a hardware problem. you need to practice, a PF9 is not going to be signifigantly easier to shoot better it still has a short sight radius and long da triggers.
Now if you just want to change I got no problem with that either gun makes a good carry weapon I have a 442 and I just got a lc9 I like both very well.I would imagine I will split time pretty even once I get some rounds through the lc9.

I have a lightweight S&W J frame, as well as a single-stack Walther PPS 9mm, and I actually find the little revolver easier to carry IWB. It's not about maximum gun width, but is more about how the gun is shaped, and I've noticed that my revolver can be carried deeper IWB than a comparable sized semi auto (ie-less gun showing above the belt line). I'm satisfied with it's capacity, and I can reload it fast enough. Although, at the range I do shoot the semi auto a little better than the revolver, for self defense purposes (and distances) I can shoot the revolver good enough.

I have several good carry guns, so I can take my pick, and it's almost always the little revolver. So if you're asking for opinions, I'd say stay with the LCR, but that's all a matter of personal preference, and if you think you'd like to carry a single stack compact 9, then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Carry what ever makes you more comfortable.

If I'm not SURE, I don't trade or sell. I say if you can afford to keep the LCR, keep it AND buy a single-stack 9 too... (I have a Kahr CW9 - great). You can always sell the LCR down the line if you decide to. They're quite popular.
I'm one (of the many) who really likes having a variety of choices for carry.

I've seen the LCR (not in person), but have read that it's a little heavier than the PF-9 and it has a safety (which to me isn't necessary in a gun with a long DAO trigger pull). Although, I do realize it's a Ruger and not a Kel-Tec.

I have a snub. (Not an LCR. A steel Taurus that weighs twice as much.) The small revolver takes practice to shoot well.

I have a PF9. 2 more shots, in a slightly smaller, definitely flatter package. Get this -- with it's size and trigger, it's about like shooting a double action snub.

I'm not sure you'd gain that much. I say work with the LCR. If you still think you want to trade, ping me. I might be amenable to a trade (as I circle like a vulture ready to pounce on a trade that would be very much in my favor....).
