I'm starting to think about selling my Charles Daly 1911. I am currently in the middle of a CZ and revolver addiction. Now that I have my CZ 75 I barely ever shoot my 1911 anymore. Also, I will probably be buying a Springfield or, less likely, a Kimber or Colt in the next few months so it will probably get even less use. So I am thinking about selling mine to help finance more CZs and revolvers for now (as of Jan 1 CZs will no longer be available in MD and I may still be here, depending upon grad school acceptances and financial aid awards, so I am trying to get as many as I can until then).
I know that Charles Dalys don't have the best resale but I don't know what to ask for mine. I paid over $450 for it and got it around 6 months ago so I certainly wouldn't take less than $200. I doubt if $350 or more is realistic (especially since you can get them new in some parts of the country for that). Does anyone have an idea what it would be worth? Anyone want to make an offer? Of course I'll only ship to an FFL.
When I sell it I will include the one factory mag I have left, one Pro Mag (8 rnds) and one 10 rnd Pro Mag plus some .45 ammo (just a box or two that I won't need for a while plus a box of 20 Winchester Silvertip 185gr HPs) and a pair of rosewood grips (in addition to the plastic original grips). This is a pre-enhanced model. I have everything that came with it except for one mag that was thrown away it was so bad.
I have been satisfied with mine (as those who have seen my posts about it know). I have had very few problems with it in the 3000 or so rounds I've put through it (with 3000+ rounds it may need some springs replaced soon). In fact, I like it so much that I have often suggested it to other people. However, I don't shoot it much anymore (now that I have my CZ), I have another CZ coming that will likely cut its use even more. Also, I will be getting a more premium brand 1911 before long after which I'm sure that I will almost never use my Charles Daly. I'd rather it go to a good home to someone who will take good care of it than have it sit unused and uncared for in my safe.
