Thinking of getting a SW686... but...

Some of you who read my posts already know what I think about S&W revolvers. I'm still looking to add one to my collection of firearms.

I want to get the 686p 2 1/2 inch revolver. My question is will a Hogue Bantam grip fit for this revolver? I don't understand the frame types on revolvers, what will and won't fit etc.

This is an excerpt from the Hogue website.

Bantam grips do not extend below the grip frame for maximum concealability. The design, finger grooves and Cobblestone finish improve control and evenly distribute recoil. Bantam Grips are currently designed for Smith & Wesson K&L, and J Round Butt revolvers.

w4klr, hope this helps. I have a 686-6 with a Hogue monogrip( similar but bantams aren't as rounded on bottom) it would look just about the same.

Yes, the bantam grips will fit the S&W 686. I've got them on that exact piece. I find them just as comfortable and more easily concealed...oh yeah and they look better.
