I am thinking about a new revolver for competition (I like revolvers).
Currently I have a S&W 617 4" and a 4.62" Ruger New Vaquero.
I do not have the ability to reload right now and wont for at least a year (hence the 38/357 caliber choice).
I am still undecided between IDPA and USPSA.
The local range which I go to has a very informal USPSA club. I went a few times and it does seem like fun. Low key and people just shoot what they bring (some people have race guns, some have smaller carry gun).
Eventually I would like to do more competitions around the area.
What I am thinking is the S&W 627 5" for USPSA or a S&W 686 4" for IDPA.
I like the USPSA mentality because it has fewer rules and the club is 5 min away.
But I also like IDPA because it seems to be more popular.
Any thoughts?
