not sure what gauge though!?! 20 or 28...

A good friend of mine has the Ringneck in 20 gauge. I was seriously considering getting one, either 20 or 28, when I lucked on the Stevens that you sold me.

His 20 is a very nice gun. Replaceable choke tubes, handles very well, and fits me (and him) well.

I think his is the two trigger one, though.

Mine is actually the Woodcock. English stock, double triggers, and not as nicely finished . That said, I like mine a lot. I've put a few hundred rounds through it while hunting or shooting clays. I have no complaints.

I had the same dilema about 20 vs 28 and ended up with 20 because shells were easier to find and cheaper (Walmart hadn't yet started carrying 28 like the do now).

Aaaah! Go ahead and get one. :D

A beautiful shotgun, Slugo. And yes, the turks do make good taffy.

I really like the 28ga. in any shotgun but when choosing between the 20 or 28, I guess a person should check the local availability of ammo if he/she doesn't buy ammo via the internet or reloads.

IF you have your heart set on a Huglu gun, at least get the double triggers - a little harder to screw up, I mean have issues with, down the road. You might want to seriously look at the S&W Elite, currently on closeouts from CDNN, Cabelas, and a few others.
Otherwise, a used Uggie will be close to the price point of the Huglu

CDNN has only 26" Gold Elites and I don't want double triggers. I'm starting o re-think this and will look for a mint Browning BSS in 20. The Turkey guns scare me, they're mediocre at best, really. For the same money I know I can find a BSS under some rock!! ;)

The ONLY thing I do not like about the Browning shotguns, (and YMMV), is their weight. They are HEAVY for field guns, more like the weight of target guns - which explains why many are buying them to use for the SxS sporting side events. Otherwise they are well-built and readily serviceable, at least for now.

What's your budget?

I only want the gun for targets. My hunting days are long over. I believe in fine restaurants who specialize in wild game! Fine whiskey too... ;)

A Browning BSS is a way better choice in my opinion ...:D ....and I'd send it down to Briley and have it fitted for screw in chokes ...maybe even get a stock fitter ....to make up something custom for you ..so it really fits.

( they have so much drop at the comb and the heel ...and LOP is so short...I can't shoot them - without serious dental work ...) - at least in their stock configuration...

Maybe when I'm old ...I'll pick one up / and make a stock for it ...for something to do ....

well, I found a private sale NIB CZ 20ga Ringneck...

made an offer, now waiting to hear. Very fair deal for both him and I, we'll see what the seller's response is. Make a perfect little gun for our local S/S sporting clays league... :)

Theyre decent little guns. I have a couple of friends that bought the 410 Bobwhites to shoot marsh hens with.
Another option is to get a better grade gun and have Semiole put their thin walled chokes in. Did that to a 20 gauge AYA.

got the gun for $600 even! Pretty good deal for a new one. Locally, they're about $800 plus 6% PA sales tax. I would have liked an Aya or other better quality gun, but this one will suit me fine. Looking forward to making an ass of myself now at the range...
