Thinking about buying a handgun from CDNN. Your experience?

Pretty much what the title says. I've got my list narrowed down to about 3. CDNN has some very attractive prices on all of them. I'd appreciate your input about what to expect.

Thanks much

CDNN has a good rep. I've purchased a bunch of guns and accessories from them in the past. Keep in mind that the condition of any used items will vary, even within the grades they assign.

Wow that was quick! Thanks!

Your replies were pretty much what I had in my head about CDNN. It's just that I could have sworn that over the weekend I had read some bad stuff in some of the post on this and other forums. In particular, that their shipping rates/policies were quite high/unreasonable. Now I can't find any of those post. Probably was a different company or I just drank away an important part of me brain during a rare outing with old friends. A figmentation of my imagination perhaps.

Two quick questions: Would you happen to know what they do charge to ship a handgun plus whatever other fees there may be on their end? I'm aware of the transfer fee etc. on my end.

And, as one of the candidates is used, does "good to very good" mean just that? I think my expectations are more than reasonable as I am not concerned much at all with cosmetics but simply function.

Again, thanks much. This will be my first internet purchase and I just don't want any ugly surprises.

Appreciate ya:)

Good company, however, they would benefit greatly from putting all their products on the web instead of providing a great big monstrous pdf. It is 2012.

fallingrock71 ....In particular, that their shipping rates/policies were quite high/unreasonable....

More than a few get CDNN confused with CTD (Cheaper Than Dirt) who has some bizarre shipping policies.

dogtown tom: Now that you mention it, I am almost positive that is who it was.
Thanks!

kcub: True. A little more info on transfers would be nice too. Or it could be right in front of me and I'm just not seeing it. Oh well, for the prices I sure can't complain much.

CDNN is great their grading of used trade ins etc is pretty consistent better than guys like Roberstons, Sarco Etc... They have nice close out deals on NIB Guns. They get good pricing on HK and SA and they ship quickly. Great prices on mags when you catch a deal.

IIRC shipping on a handgun is $15 or $20. FFL transfer on your end should be $10 to $25. You can call them and they can tell you if you FFL of choice is already on file.

They work on commission so if someone helps you get info get their name and make sure you ask for them if you have to call back to make the purchase.

I've gotten a number of items from them, all great. The two used firearms were in great shape as noted (Sig P6 & CM2 rifle).

Thumbs up here as well. Both pistols I bought from them were as good if not better than described. Shipping was fast and their customer service was very friendly.

Bought a used S&W 5906 & a new kel tec p3at. Both times was a pleasant experience. Fast shipping and good prices

I bought my Steyr M9A1 from them for an excellent price, and it shipped swiftly and I don't recall any hassles with shipping or shipping fees.

Bought a few guns from them. Always a good experience. Call up, they answer instantly. Tell them what gun you want, if it is in stock (The rarer Kel-tec's never seem to be), they get your info and it is on its way usually the next day if your FFL is already on record with them.

Back in 1999, I ordered five cases of .45acp ammo advertised as being "free shipping on five cases or more". Four cases arrived, so I called about the fifth one and they said they were holding it until I paid shipping. It went something like this...

"But you said free shipping on five cases or more"
"We only had four on hand when we took your order, so now you need to pay shipping"

I ended up paying shipping in order to get the fifth case. It was my first and last experience with CDNN.

(The rarer Kel-tec's never seem to be)

That's exactly what I was going to say. I like CDNN a lot but it annoys the crap out of me that they insist on advertising stuff _for years_ that they don't have in stock. Ever. Like the Kel-Tec PMR-30. I guess they see it as a good way to get people to call them!
