thinking about a new barrel for a K31

i want to convert my k31 to a .308
if i wanted to keep the same k31 accuracy are better what am i looking for
fluted, nonfluted bull barrel what kind of twist would be best for some one who doesnt reload

Have you thought about having the existing barrel shortened a couple threads and reamed for the 308? The 7.5 Swiss uses a 306 barrel, close enough to fire 308 bullets in it.

would that be cheaper and does shortening the threads take up the head space?

Rebarreling or rechambering, in most cases you will exceed the value of the rifle. Most gunsmith will charge you around $100 for the chambering and barrel installation alone, more if you have to index a front sight like in reworking your old barrel. And even a cheap barrel will be $100+. K31 run around $200 on gunbroker.
