Think I am in love....again

Guys in my area are having pretty good luck with STI 5" guns....fit & finish is OK, not great...but they are in the mix with Springfield, Sig, CZ-Dan wesson..... in the affordable price range for 1911's....in my opinion ---- better than a lot of the entry level or low end guns in my view...

Making a 3" gun run reliably ...is not something every mfg knows how to do....so I don't know that I would recommend it...

I know a few guys had some warranty issues with STI...( heard discussions )...not sure how it worked out... as I recall it was feeding and cosmetic issues ( grips, bushings, feed ramps...) type stuff...

I have an STI LS40 (somewhat similar to the Electra, but I believe slimmer and smaller); and I have a custom STI 2011 frame 45.

Both of my STI's are excellent quality guns. The LS40 has been rumored to sometimes break slide-stops, which is remedied by replacing the slide stop with a tougher one. Mine functions perfectly. The 2011 custom 45 is nearly as accurate as my Sig X-Five Competition out to 75 feet; not bad for a 45.

STI generally makes good quality guns. However, when they are discontinued, parts can be hard to find.

I've not owned the compact versions but have had two Trojans. Still have one in 38 Super. I've made a few changes to mine just due to personal preference. IMHO, excellent value for the money. Well fitted, reliable, accurate, good factory trigger, etc. Were I in the market, I would definitely consider STI again.
