Thief alert

I gave up on the AR15 board a while back due to some immaturity and invective.

But, I just spent 15-20 minutes wading through 3 pages of some of the damdest customer service (or lack of it) I have ever seen. Almost read like a novel in some places.

I wonder how long that guy will stay in business with that kind of reputation.

As a sidenote, Ed Sr. and the moderators at ar15.com are trying to assert some order there. We wish them the best of luck.

Yikes!!! Can someone start a permanent section on people not to deal with. This guy definitely needs to be black listed. There is no excuse for doing this to people.

It seems like there are too many problems like these nowadays. When I place a phone or mail order with anyone but L. L. Bean, I get nervous.

For instance, two weeks ago I ordered some pre-ban mags from a fairly well-known dealer in such goods and was sent restricted mags instead. The dealer said it was a mistake, asked me to return the illegal mags to him (which I would have done anyway), and promised to send the pre-ban mags instead. I sent the restricted mags back asap and will know next week whether the dealer follows through on his promise.

My wife ordered something from a nutritional supplement company, was not sent what she ordered, returned the shipment, asked for a refund, and never heard from the company again. Fortunately, she successfully disputed the charge on her credit card.

Caveat emptor has become an understatement!

It's nothing compared to what he pulled on Sig-L a month ago. He is one of the most vengeful people I've ever seen and he's got at least one crony to do his dirty work for him.

I'm glad I don't know him personally, or I'd arm myself with a rocket launcher, M-16, two MP5's, two SIG 220's, two .357 Magnums, and a telescoping baton! All in my pocket of course.

Well, at least you all know his standard answer. "UPS lost it!" Yeah, right.

Marv helped shut the Unofficial Sig-Sauer Page down as well. The page is run by the moderator/list owner (Justin) of Sig-L and is linked to the server at Justin's work site (which I believe is a university). After Marv was "exposed" on Sig-L and Justin stepped in, Marv called the university and complained about the web page being up. As a result, the page is temporarilly down.

I used to like Marv and thought a couple of minor instances got blown out of proportion. After hearing "UPS lost it" one too many times, he's off my potential business list.

If I was going to attempt to revamp AR15.com's weather... get a staff of billy club armed Bobbies to roam around and keep order?
OR delete all accounts and have everyone registering do so by Agreement. Violation equals getting bumped out. Which is a power TFL moderators have that keeps peace. Thankfully we dont have to use it very much... a simple email to the party in question usualy yelds possitive results.
If not... They can stay - and read - but can no longer post. Simple as that.

The thought of TFL getting as bad as AR? Rich would just pull the plug and while I would miss TFL - would agree that it was needed. After a year or so, maybe TFL could start again.

George I agree with you. It is Bad. But I have spoken to most of the Mods and they are all trying. Ed Jr. Has given them a lot more power to clean **** up now but it is still going to take time. They are asking that People post there more. And I for one intend to. But if it gets bad I am out of there. I was one of the "Old Guard" as some have called us. The people around when ZEN had his old missle Silo full of Sheep and his Fields full of College Co-Eds. Hmm or was that the other way around.

I am giving them a chance. The board was once on the level with TFL and I for one think it deserves a chance to get back there again. So if anyone wants to try to help out over there I would encourage you to do so. TFL is now my home. But AR15 is my old stomping grounds and I dont' want to see it destroyed.

If anyone is interested, the story is getting better. And yes, I'm GeorgeInNePa over there also. Go check it out, it's up to 4 going on 5 pages.

I didn't check out the thread on AR-15 until someone here mentioned "Marv" and I said - actually said out loud and my secreatary said "What's wrong" to me - "Oh, no!"

These guys are thieves. Plain and simple. I see that someone has posted information on how to contact the NC Attorney General's office and several other NC agencies. If you have been ripped off by these folks, call the NC AG right now. This is not the first time, or even the second time, that ol' Marv has been ripping people off. I first ran into him on the SIG-L list, and people there were complaining. Every dealer in the state knows to avoid him.

Don't get taken.
