Thermold Mags

hi guys, i'd like to know how good Thermold Mags are, i fond some for $17.99 and if there any good i mit by some, so if any of you have some can you plz tell me how good they are.

they are great, especially when NIW ones are the cost of 70% USGI used mags.

The bad thermolds were canadian manufactured with a different plastic mixture. The rumor was that they Ther-melted under full auto fire.

In my Brush-hampster they are a tad tight & don't drop free.
Not much of an issue at the plinking range.

Every AR needs a few thermold mags
the 20s are pretty nice too...

thermold quality

depends on which thermolds for which gun. i have had mixed luck with thermolds for both the fn/fal clones and M-1a's. thermolds for ar's are fine. however some thermolds (like the 20's and a few 30's) do not want to keep the bolt open on the last round fired. also have had a few but ratio is very low of ftf's too. if you look around on the web you can sometimes find them for as low as $10ea.

i have a few 20rd ar thermolds i would be interested in swapping for 20rd metric fn thermolds
 
I have a dozen of the 30 rounders. Work great in all my ARs (all Colt). I actually prefer them to USGI. That's a decent price for new Thermolds.
 
AR version works fine, Mini-14 does not.

Don't leave them loaded for very long -- you will likely spread the feed lips, which may cause feeding problems.
 
Beleive it or not but metal is better....however of the plastic mags Thermold are the best. That is a good price on them too.
