Theoretically speaking, let’s say I have the following rifles that shoot the accompanying cartridges.
1. Remington Model 512 in .22LR (Plinking, rabbits, squirrels & other small game)
2. Savage Model 99 in 22-250 (Seriously customized song dog & varmint rifle)
3. Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in 25-06 new model with controlled round feed (Antelope, goat, sheep and small deer)
4. Winchester model 70 Featherweight in 30-06 also new model with controlled round feed (Feral hogs, larger deer up to and maybe including Elk)
What rifle & cartridge should be next in this progression? Perhaps something in the .338 family? Maybe 35 Whelen? or should I jump to .375 H&H and do I even want a belted cartridge? We’re talking Moose/Brown bear/African plains game class here.
I don’t see larger dangerous game in my future and if so it will be another progression anyway. I would appreciate the forum members input on this……..all theoretically speaking of course.
