Years ago I thought women and guns didn't go together. Boy was I proven wrong. When I met my wife, she had never fired a gun. Well with me being a gun collector that didn't last to long. I bought a little 9mm auto, and showed her how to use it. She fell in love with it. From then on for every gun I bought, she had to have one. I had to start gun safe collecting also. I bought her a Ruger Blackhawk 357 mag that I reload 38 special for. I had the custom wolf springs installed that lightened the trigger pull, and imitation pearl grips. She flat loves that gun. In the fall, she likes to buy pumpkins, and take them up in the woods and shoot them up. There's an idea for you guys. Women love it. Here's a couple of her pistols. Her Ruger 357 and Ruger Old Army[she inherited it].

My wife just started shooting with me at the range. She's put maybe 300 rounds thru my PX4, a few .38spl thru my 686, and last week we rented a 1911 to shoot some .45.
She's naturally a better shot than me; put 3 of 5 rounds of .45 into a quarter-sized circle I drew in a clean area of a target at 7 yds; first time she laid hands on it!
Time will tell if she's going to collect and enjoy it as much as the OP's wife, but she understands my urge and has the desire to improve... I guess what I'm saying is; I ALSO WIN AT LIFE!

My wife likes guns too. She is very specific on what she likes and won't budge if she says she doesnt like something.
It started with her shooting her Dad's 410. Then we bought her a youth 410.
She has decided that criminals use semiauto pistols so she wants nothing to do with mine. We got her a Heritage .22 for her birthday. I would have liked to have gotten her a better brand, but the prices were a little more then our .22 budget could handle. Unfortunately we found out she is pregnant before she even got to shoot it. Come August she is probably going to want to go with me every time I go shooting.
