The Vanishing Rosie Cite

I have been trying to find a reliable source for the famous Rosie "...go to prison" quote. I am having only partial luck.

What I am looking for is a video file, or a source from a reputable main-stream news source to prove that it was not made up.

Anyone have a URL?

Thanks,

Rick

April 21, 1999, Kmart Spokesperson Rosie O'Donnell, on her nationally televised talk show, called for the arrest and imprisonment of all gun owners.

> She said,
"I honestly think - and I am not an expert on the amendments - I think the only people in this nation who should be allowed to own guns are police officers. I don't care if you want to hunt, I don't care if you think it's your right. I say 'sorry'. It is 1999, we have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a gun and if you do own a gun, I think you should go to prison."

I predict that she will disappear from the celebrity limelite, and it will be because of her opinions on the 2nd. She will end up with the sh*tty end of the stick.

Bump...

Seriously, I would really like to have the source for that quote in a properly worded citation from a news article or video clip.

Rick

PS, I am not looking for the Tom Selleck interview which ocurred in May 1999. The Rosie "jail" quote happened on her show on April 21 just two days after Columbine. Wouldn't you know that her web site has dozens of video clips from that day but nothing of that. I also can't find it on any major news outlet.

This may sicken you; but I like Rosie. She's annoying, repulsive and most importantly VERY hippocritical (sp). Imagine someone attractive, talented (besides "knowing Madonna" as a qualification), and who literally stayed away from guns and bodyguards. And imagine that person talking softly, appearing "moderate" and "positive", not screaming/rubbishing anyone, and talking to us like little children.

We're lucky that the spokesperson for their side is such a buffoon.

Ditto on that link, though - although I DID hear she said something (but don't have the link) on how she changed her mind due to necessities of her OWN family's defense (now she just says "licenced and registered handgun" a lot).

Battler.

Anyone have a link to the Tom Selleck fiasco. I was an anti when it first happened so I did not care (ignorance is bliss). Now that I am edumocated, I would like to read it.

Rick, she said that on her own show on April 21, 1999. If you want to spend $35, you can call the Federal Document Clearing House and order a tape of the show. It takes about a month to get the tape.

Good luck.

Dick
