"The Unmasking of Bring the love" or "Gusgus meets The Troll"

An evening past, Gusgus felt a need to visit the community. The community was a place of belonging. A place of safety. A respite in the midst of the evil. But this evening, as Gusgus drew nigh, he could feel an uneasiness in the air. The community had been under attack by a wretched creature, a creature who called itself "Bring the Love". The members of the community had defended it with valor. Precision strikes had been made. Strikes that would have devastated the vilest of the enemy. Yet, the creature laughed off the defender's efforts, and disappeared into the night, as quickly as it had appeared.

As Gusgus sniffed the air, he felt a strange familiarity with the creature. The scent was obvious, but how could it be? Could this vile creature truly be, his loyal companion, The Troll? How could a defender of right, a fighter of the evil, attack the community with such vile? No, it couldn't be, yet the scent was unmistakable.

Early in the morning, Gusgus arose from his sleep, to toil in the sun, with his loyal companion, The Troll. "Bring the Love", was Gusgus' greeting. "What" he exclaimed. "Bring the Love", was repeated. "But, but, ... how did you know?!", exclaimed The Troll. "It was the scent." The Troll was visibly distraught over how easily he had been found out. "But why would you, who fights the evil, attack the community?" asked Gusgus. "They had to be shown", replied The Troll. "Shown that their defenses do not work against the True Evil. The only way to defeat the posts of the True Evil is to ignore them. Attack them, and the True Evil grows, but if the community ignores them, it will die!" Truer words have rarely been spoken by one so young.

For the sake of the community, Gusgus could not allow the attacks to go unchallenged. He gently reminded his friend, that if the attacks continued, a certain 1 GB Athlon would remain in it's box, condemning The Troll to a lifetime of slow frame rates.

Now the community may return to a place of peace and safety, as the vile creature, "Bring the Love", has been unmasked. Though he is not a member of the community, he is a friend, and a fighter of the evil. So if he strikes again, just remember, "Bring the Love" is not the evil, he is the tester, ... he is "The Troll" (and will be doomed to living with his outdated PIII for a long, long time).

Ok, I've "been there, done that and got the T-shirt" from 80% of the way around the whole bloody world. I've made love to strange and beautiful women with eyes of many shapes and colors. I even married more than my fair share of them before I met the present and last Mrs. ETV. I've fought, drunk, and, sadly, drugged my way through ports, bases, and cities on four continents. I've killed MIG's at 95 miles and one man at five feet. I've eaten things in dark streets in Istanbul that I wouldn't even look at in a good light. But... I DON'T HAVE A BLOODY CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!

SIMPLE ENGLISH TRANSLATION - Thursday night an "Anti" using the handle "bringthelove" blasted a couple threads with anti gun propaganda. There where a dozen or so replies attempting to reason with. and outright attacking this "Anti". Due to the style and handle, I immediately felt that this was a TROLL, and that it may be (gasp), my Son-In-Law.

When I confronted him at work, he couldn't believe that I had found him out so fast. He said he wanted to see if we could defend our beliefs against a "crazed anti". In reality, he is as Pro RKBA as any of us. I told him to stop it, or I wouldn't upgrade his system. BTW, "Bring the love" means "Let's rumble!".

Man, you try to be creative.....or maybe I've been playing too much "Wheel of Time" lately.

Oh, and Citizen, to an avid gamer, a 558 PIII (over clocked 450) is obsolete. My gaming machine is a 880 T-Bird (over clocked 800), and it's already close to being obsolete in gaming circles.

Gusgus, do us all a favor and pimpslap that boy upside his head. :D I wrote an insulting post because I was sick and tired of arguing with bliss ninnys, and then I had to go back and delete it once I calmed down, before Dennis or one of the other moderators saw it.

Relegate him to a closet with a turbo 386 and a bad phone line.

Sam, do silver iodide crystals make trolls tears trickle?

Excuse me, but I have a Kaypro, complete with two 390K floppies, 64K of RAM, and a 1200 bps modem. I think that's what he needs.

Bogie,
I can do you one better. I still have somewhere in the basement, an Atari, with 64K of memory, 2 390K floppies, NO MODEM, and a CASSETTE DRIVE. If he ever pulls a stunt like this again, I'll dust it off, just for him.

I'd make him play with a Coleco Vision for a month to ensure he has learned his lesson. :D
