The United States of America

I have been reading through the boards today and I found myself wondering: Is there any hope of recovering from this downward spiral we are in. Can we still save the country? Or is it to late. If Critical mass has been reached what will happen.

I mean seriously. The USA is the backbone or half the world. Finance and food source to half the world. What would happen if the US fell into Civil War or just Fell? I think about places like California and New York and I keep thinking to myself that it is to late because frankly this is where it ends. It isn't just about Guns, it isn't just about SUVs and Credit cards. It is about The right to live, and to be alive. To not serve someone else. To be human, to love and to learn. All those things are deteriorating.

But they have taken that away from us in some places, and in so many ways. Many of you know me. I don't like to back down or give up. I do often advise caution but that is not to be confused with an unwillingness to do what I must.

It is starting in California and New York, Washington and Atlanta.
But I fear that from there it will spread. From city to city, State to state. Until nothing is left. And all we can do is watch. Watch and pray that something better rises from the Ashes of our once great nation.

As sobering and saddening as it is, I fear that the answer is that we are doomed. The old America is gone and we are now left with this withering shell of what was once a great nation. We only hold any power in the world because other nations don't know the poor condition that we're in and still fear us. We're on the highway to Hell in a handbasket.

What will happen, I don't know, but you can be sure that it won't be pleasant and that the U.N. will be involved and will be there, like a vulture, to pick up the pieces. I believe it will happen within 10 to 20 years.

I can't remember who said it, but it was something like:
Our form of government is only fit for a moral and righteous people, it will not work for any other.
We are now the "other".

Omar Bradley said: *
The world have achieved brilliance without conscience.
Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants.
We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount.

The Constitution is hanging by a thread...
(Him that hath ears to hear, let him hear.)

I welcome any opposing views.

The United States is like a junkie. We are addicted to self importance, wealth, SUVs and all the things that make life so comfortable that we block out the reality of the downward spiral our country is in.
Like that junkie, we won't do anything until our nation hits rock bottom. At that point there are only two things which can be done. We, as a nation, can rise from the ashes and rebuild a better life or we can die.
The choice has yet to be made.

As long as this defeatist attitude prevails,
the downward spiral will not stop.

Hell! we are all going to die anyways, and the only ones that will remember you will be you kids.

So what is your problem?

Go look into your childrens eyes, how important is their freedom to you?

You all decide what you will, but, don't be standing in front of me when the sh*t hits the fan.

When they come for me, I will make it very costly for them. In the court room or in the streets.

Waterdog said it: if we're doomed to die anyway, how do we want to go out?

But the excrement has not yet come in contact with the rotary cooling device.

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival. There may even be a
worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." -- Winston Churchill
Ol' Winnie sure had a way with words.

At this moment we COULD still turn this country back toward freedom, if we only had the will to do it.

If we don't work now, within the system, to restore the freedoms we have squandered, then the second half of that quote will apply to us. This I believe.

Hehe, in rummaging thru my quotes file for the post above, I realized that Daniel Webster himself already answered KevinW's original question.

To wit:
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>"If we and our posterity reject religious instruction and authority, violate the rules of eternal justice, trifle with the injunctions of morality, and recklessly destroy the political constitution which holds us together, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us, that shall bury all our glory in profound obscurity." -- Daniel Webster
Reading this thread, I was reminded of the (very) short story "Sundown at Coffin Rock", by Raymond K. Paden.

I'm reminded of the same sentiment expressed here. While I don't necessarily disagree with the general concensus, I believe that we can deter, or alter, the desired outcome our enemies may have in mind for us.

In order to do that, there has to be some advance thought and actions made in the event such things actually do occur.
If the USA were to be placed under the auspices of another "authority", would you be able to purchase firearms, or ammunition?
Highly unlikely, to say the least.
In fact, you'd most likely already be under arrest based upon Form 4473 information confiscated from the FFL dealer, or local LEO office that issued CCW, or permits for purchase of firearms.
Pessimistic, but the likely course of any "police action" force in this country, whether foreign or domestic.

Best regards,
Don

Sorry, I don't mean to be a defeatist or to have given up, I'm just being practical - maybe too much so.

It's just that the socialist/communist/NWO opposition is so great that I don't see that there's any way to overcome it, only to delay the inevitable. There are, unfortunately, too many people who simply don't understand, otherwise we would have had the 2nd American Revolution/2nd Civil War already.

Anybody have any NEW ideas on how to overcome the opposition and get our rights back or at least stop, FOR GOOD, the intrusion upon our rights?

I don't have much faith in the next civil war if it ever happens. Americans have been split every way possible for so long that I doubt we could come together if we had to. People are spoiled by luxury and greed. This is why we are where we are now. We have been throwing money at every problem for so long that we have forgotten how to overcome obstacles any other way. A lot of you older guys have it better than us youngsters in the fact that you can remember patriotism and honor and loyalty. People have been burning the American flag for longer than I've been alive. We were not taught anything of value in our schools, we were conditioned to be good socialist slaves. My saving grace came from family members who got me interested in history and truth. Many people don't care anymore about anything but themselves. America is destined to fall because of "Americans", and the UN will take full advantage of the situation. Prepare yourselves, it is only going to get worse before it gets better. God Bless America. We need it.
Thus endeth the speech.

I've always felt that most of the problem lies in the fact that we have a perfect map for a great society (The Constitution) that is being interpreted by imperfect and self serving creatures (man).

Some are more imperfect than others...

No matter what, man is incapable of ruling himself without relying on a higher power to guide him. The Good Lord himself could be sitting in the White House and as long as regular old men and women are put into decision making positions, we will eventually decay.
Show me one other society on this planet that has not followed this same pattern - great civilizations rise and inevitably fall. The Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Mayans and most European countries have had their time in the spotlight also, but for one reason or other, time has passed them by.

Possibly a defeatist attitude but we should not fool ourselves into thinking that we are or will be any different. If you are not interested in taking a religious slant to this whole thing, you can take away the higher power thing and just simply say that, unless we have the strength of character AS A NATION, to stand up for the same basics that we were founded on, we will fail simply because the inmates are being allowed to run the asylum.

Too many folks are willing to stand by and let things happen to them and around them without taking a stance. The "tolerance" that all of these touchy feely types keep preaching has served to do nothing but divide us into factions fighting for our own agendas instead of a unified populace just trying to enjoy the passage of time.

I have made myself sick writing this. I'm going out to mow my nice yard in my nice neighborhood while my beautiful daughter rides her bike in front of my house. (I'll have a pistol in my pocket - always do)

My rather long-winded 2 cents,

Chris Canis

I think Chadintex said it pretty well. The credo of the sheeple is "Hooray for me. Screw you." Until we can change that attitude, we will continue on that downward spiral into slavery.
My question is this. When is enough, enough?
Paul B.

I agree with the 'downward spiral' except that lately I am seeing a lot of serious activity from our side. There is much more awareness and even some outrage. Most of it we owe to the totally corrupt clinton/gore/reno administration.

Look at the growth of our own TFL. And consider this: We are converting some anti's. I don't think we are losing any of us to them.

Im know that a lot of TFL'ers like the ideas of a third party, Libertarians and Alan Keyes. I like the ideas too, but our enemy is Al Gore and I think GW will beat him. I think we will also win seats in Congress. I have been wrong before, but that is what I think I see.

And if it happens anything like that the USA will be a lot better off. There will still be a lot of problems, but dont you believe that a Conservative approach is the best?

You have to be there when it's all over. Otherwise you can't say "I told you so."

Better days to be,

Things will get worse and worse until some perverted junior high school teacher beats a child molestation charge with a defense based on his "psychological need for intergenerational intimacy," and the enraged father is sent to prison for some "homophobic hate crime."

Then again, maybe even this won't get people up in arms. We've gotten too psychologically numbed by repeated outrage, and a lot of us are too addled by dope to give a damn.

Munro, something like that already happened here in Dallas. A man comes home and his 3-4 year old daughter has been molested by the man's roommate who was watching her. Dad shot the sicko 3 times in the head with a shotgun. Dad was convicted and sentenced to a long time in jail. Granted Dad was a convict before this, but how can anyone lock up a father for that. He should have gotten a medal.

The nice thing about being defeatist in nature, is that it is easy. There is the strategy, and I forget who first incorporated it but, to make a people easy to rule, you make life very easy for them. Consume their minds with stupid stuff. Make idiocy more important. We can fight and we can win, but folks like us have to have the will. The "eye of the tiger" so to speak. We can fight and we can win! Happens all the time and will continue to happen, it is the way of life. If you feel that there is no possible way to win against the big, bad gov't, we won't. I, however, will win! By hook, by crook, by any means necessary. By brutality, by savagery, I will win. Those with a defeatist attitude may not, but I will. My God will welcome me as a fighter if nothing else.
