As some of you may know from my postings, my wife and I are expecting our first child in September. We had her first sonogram yesterday morning and guess what? TWINS

One boy and one girl. A matched set. That brings me to my questions. First, any advice from folks who've had twins. Second, and this is firearm related

, how hard will it be for me to find a pair of consecutive serial number Ruger BearCats? The kids won't be ready for them for awhile, but I need to get them while I still can. ANY advice about this whole twins thing would be a big help. Not sure I'm ready for this!

Congrats to you and your wife, Tom!! Wow...a matched set...that is awesome! I'm sure you will get lots of advice, whether you want it or not! Listen to the good, ignore the bad and use common sense...and you will all do fine!!! Oh, and make sure you get plenty of sleep now...while you still can!

I don't envy you and your wife though...I have a 2 yr old ultimate handful. The thought of 2 at the same time makes my knees weak

RE Bearcats....
I'd start calling local dealers and asking them if they have any consecutive ones in stock, if they can order them and I'd write Ruger directly (tell them the reason) for assistance.

My twins are 3 - and are joys in my life...
real trouble didnt start untill they learned how to use Windows 98.

Advice?
1. Buy everything in pairs... doesnt matter what - they'll BOTH want it. (i got 4 boys actually so I buy in bulk packs...)
2. Make sure you take the time to take each child out on his own "Secret Missions" with Dad... to McDonalds for a treat or whatever you need to go do... just to have that 1 on 1 time. Its important.
3. Twins are easy - they can help entertain themselves... but the matching clothes thing... NEVER do that to them...

Have 25 year old twin daughters and they are a absolute treat. Love to fish, shoot and went through college on soccer scholarships.

Don't have kids myself; I got cured of the desire:::
Twins - Brother and Sister
Twins - Set of uncles
Twins - 3 sets of cousins (paternal side)
Twins - 1 set of cousins (maternal side)

I'm sure there are others, but I lose count. All in all, like Ma Kettle once said, "I wouldn't give a plug nickel for all of them, but I wouldn't take all the money on earth for one of them." (Something to that effect).

Congratulations, I've got a girl on the way myself. This thread makes me realize that I need to start buying guns for her also!
