The SW 5 inch Model 60

Anybody see these at a gun show? If so what price? I've looked at gunbroker and they are in the high $400s.

I might like one but I'd like to see them cheaper! :)

They are neat little guns. They would make fine woods walking guns. I _wanted_ to like the one I saw at the gunstore. I _tried_ to overlook the lock on the side. But it is odd how different finishes can make such a difference. On some Smiths I can force my eye not to see it. But the finish on that M60 somehow outlines it and makes it EASIER to see.

I just couldn't do it. I'll look again when S&W finds a way to have a lock like the ones on the newest Ruger single-actions. A lock that is invisible unless you get out a screwdriver and go looking for it!

You're right, they are expensive! I wouldn't look for the price to come down tho. The SW M66 2 1/2" is a very nice carry & HD revolver. The good ones are well over $400.00 and the 4" barrel is getting into that price range. I just sold my M66, 4" on Auction Arms for $450.00.

Shotgun News had an ad for 2 1/2" 66's from Kiesler, IIRC. Anyone buy from them?

I do like the model 60s for size. I was also thinking of my female family members as users with mild rounds.

Well, I saw one and my enthusiasm dampened. In the flesh or steel, the barrel seems a touch too long for everyday use. I might have to consider a 3" barrel - a 4 if made (?) might be nice.

5 inch model 60, a question nobody asked!!!

I personaly think the 3" with adjustable sights is a great compromise between concealability and shootability.

Just my 2 cents.
