Digital Angel ,Smart Gun Secret Danger Revealed.

The Digital Angel Location and Recovery System, when incorporated and intergrated into Smart Gun technoligy alerts authorities via automatic satalite up link to
your identity, location, make ,model, serial number, date & time whenever you activate the electronic trigger of your smart gun.

Digital Angel is a lima bean sized electronic circuit (chip) that up links
to overhead satalite and transmitts global co-ordinates and can be programed to transmit other info or activate or de activate other
functions,as well.

Digital angel is designed for remote
activation/deactivation/control.

While digital angel was originally designed to be implanted under the skin of humans and transmit location and heart rate, digital angel is easily programed for other
functions such as activation of other ,not so nice, devices also implanted under the skin, such as poison ampules or micro bombs.

Digital Angel can also be incorporated into the firing circuit of "Smart Guns" so that every time you activate your trigger, your golbal postitioning co-ordinates, name, address, serial number, make and model
are transmitted to your " police state" controler, who can then determine weather to de activate your fire arm by remote control or allow you to fire your firearm.

Digital Angel exists today. You can buy one at:

The question is how
shall this technoligy be used or mis used.
BOYCOTT AND STOP
SMART GUNS TODAY. NIP THEM IN THE BUD.

"This has got to be some kind of a hoax," I said as I clicked the link to the ADS homepage. The link was bad. First evidence it's a hoax.

Looked around the site awhile...nothing about anything called "Digital Angel." Ha! Wait 'til I let ernest2 have it for posting this trash on TFL... Then I found it. :(

It's for real folks. Here's the link and the press release from December 1999 about this technology.

quote:
APPLIED DIGITAL SOLUTIONS ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO WORLD'S FIRST DIGITAL DEVICE -- IMPLANTABLE IN HUMANS - WITH APPLICATIONS IN E-BUSINESS TO BUSINESS SECURITY, HEALTH CARE AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Inserted just under the skin, with maintenance-free regenerating power supply, miniature "Digital Angel™" has multi-billion dollar market potential
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECEMBER 15, 1999 -- Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSX) today announced that it has acquired the patent rights to a miniature digital transceiver - which it has named "Digital Angel™" -- that can be used for a variety of purposes, such as providing a tamper-proof means of identification for enhanced e-business security, locating lost or missing individuals, tracking the location of valuable property and monitoring the medical conditions of at-risk patients.
In the agreement signed last week, ADS acquired the right to develop this unique product itself for all of its applications or to sublicense the development of specific applications to other entities. A special technology group has been formed within ADS to supervise the development of the device.
The implantable transceiver sends and receives data and can be continuously tracked by GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) technology. The transceiver's power supply and actuation system are unlike anything ever created. When implanted within a body, the device is powered electromechanically through the movement of muscles, and it can be activated either by the "wearer" or by the monitoring facility. A novel sensation feedback feature will even allow the wearer to control the device to some degree. The "smart" device is also small enough to be hidden inconspicuously on or within valuable personal belongings and priceless works of art.
Commenting on Digital Angel's™ many potential applications, Richard J. Sullivan, Chairman and CEO of Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (ADS), said: "We believe its potential for improving individual and e-business security and enhancing the quality of life for millions of people is virtually limitless. Although we're in the early developmental phase, we expect to come forward with applications in many different areas, from medical monitoring to law enforcement. However, in keeping with our core strengths in the e-business to business arena, we plan to focus our initial development efforts on the growing field of e-commerce security and user ID verification."
Sullivan added that the multi-purpose technology would enable ADS to tap into a vast global market, through licensing and other commercial arrangements. We believe the Digital Angel technology, in all of its applications, has a multi-billion market potential. "The e-business to business security market alone could reach as high as $10 to $12 billion in the near future," Sullivan added.
ADS is actively seeking joint venture partners to help develop and market the unique technology. The company expects to create a working prototype by the end of next year.

Digital Angel?

Guess they're not at all worried about those who've read Revelations.

OTOH, Blues is right, if this is true. It's a glimpse of your children's world, if not your own.

Ain't no way, no how, one of those things is going into me or any of my children.

Period.

There was a thread on this not long ago. I sent it to my "Ethics in the Information Age" class by email, and the prof thought it was important enough to print copies and hand it out to the class, but no one else seemed very bothered by it.

Someone opined on the earlier thread that eventually such devices will be like vaccinations--required for every child who attends public school.

It's a hoax. Theoretically, you could build a tracking device which was that small, and which could keep track of it's location by GPS. Though it *might* require boosting the signal strength of the GPS satalites, something they ought to be doing soon anyway.

But the idea that something that small could send a signal BACK to a satalite is silly. Basic physics would prohibit it from sending a directional signal, (since the device is smaller than any wavelength it might use) and the power output would prohibit a non-directional signal from being received at that distance.

Now, I'm not saying that the general idea is impossible, just the satalite bit. You probably COULD build something that small with GPS capability, which could maintain a log of such things as the time and location a gun was fired, and download it by cell phone or other local transmission.

Then again, you could set the thing up so that the smart gun did a Brady check on you every time you pulled the trigger, and refused to fire until you passed... Wouldn't THAT be a pain?

It is most certainly NOT a hoax. This is a product from a PUBLICLY TRADED company. Why don't you CALL THEM AND ASK?

I posted the original story here (I think, because I sure posted it everywhere else), and I checked into it.

As far as "silly" is concerned, did you ever think about something as mundane as a CELL PHONE RELAY TOWER? Cell phones are NOT powerful enough to communicate very far (600 mW on average). But a system of relay antennas and signal boosters makes it possible.

See?

Interesting bit of trivia, the Bible refers to "The mark of the Beast". The way we used to mark beasts (livestock) is through branding them. Now for ease, and convienience, we mark them with a microchip (AVID& HOMEBOUND) planted under the skin. I highly recomend this for your animals as a recovery system, but it is literally a "mark for a beast". Along with gun confiscation, I would be willing to kill to keep it out of me or my family. Of course, you're destined to lose (revelations), but that's OK. Better to die right than to die wrong.

Welllll,

I'd bet that the GPS satelite will be kept really busy on IDPA/IPSC Sundays.

What would happen if I just removed the device?

Evidently, the device is not just implated under the skin, but deep in muscle tissue. How bad do you wanna do "self-surgery"?

I too will kill before I allow such a device, either in my family or myself. My defense: "God told me to".

Pretty simple.

Hey, Dennis, I read a little too much into the post, and assumed that the "sending" was being done to a satalite, too.

You'll notice that I specifically mentioned cell phones as a way it could be made to work.
