Never noticed before on my gen 2 17 probably cause its well worn in but this newer 41 models triger padle pushes a really pronounced impression on my triger finger so much it bothers me. Never seen this before on my or my neighbors assorted Glocks but this one is a bother,I dont know if it because its fairly new kinda - 2k rds my first choice would be to change it out to an aftermarket trigger that remedys this issue if not delete it if posible as a last option. I know ill get jumped for even thinking about this but know I only use it as a range gun and not home d or edc.

You can swap out the triggers themselves, and thus the trigger paddles as well. There are all kinds available from factory parts (newer and older models) to aftermarket stuff like pyramid triggers.

The "thingy" in the trigger is intended to prevent the trigger from being pulled back from inertia if the gun is dropped. It is not intended as a safety in the traditional sense. The device in a Savage Accutrigger, Ruger American and the Marlin XL-7, XD, and S&W's M&P pistols is there for the same reason.

I wouldn't want to defeat it. I've never noticed a problem with any guns other than the Savage. It is possible to pull the trigger on those without depressing the blade in the trigger. The firing pin is released, but won't strike the primer until the gun is re-cocked.

I replaced the serrated trigger on my Glock 23 with a smooth trigger like comes on the full size models (17, 22, etc). I then contoured the paddle/thingy to match the curve of the trigger. Now when the paddle/thingy is pressed it's flush with the surface of the trigger. It only took about ten minutes with a small round file and some sand paper.
