wow, this thread is pretty disgusting
First, in response to comments in the video:
"it's not easy to put a country 25 million people back together"
Well maybe we shouldn't have torn it apart in the first place.
4500 schools rebuilt? After we blew them up? Oh, goodie gumdrops.
The elite Iraqi police force? You mean the one that was supposed to have taken control ages ago? The one that, after years of training, only three of which were ready for full control and months later that number had dropped to one? The same "l33t" security force that just recently took control from - of all people - the Italian Army? Or perhaps we're talking about that security force that has allowed weapons to flow directly into the black market under the eyes - and possibly through the hands - of our own troops?
33k new businesses? Yay! Now how many were destroyed?
Yeah, freedom of speech is great but perhaps it should have been
their decision to fight for it. Perhaps some people would rather not have Marines killing their neighbors or American artillery shells landing on wedding receptions (oh, oops...that was in Afghanistan. hmm, didn't I hear about some big bad evil doers over there? nah, bad guys only exist in Iraq). Perhaps some people see not being killed because insurgents are fighting invaders just so they can criticize the government. Perhaps it wasn't our choice to make.
"The Real Story"? Please. This is one story, one angle. There is just as much death and destruction there due directly to our military actions as there is happiness over being able to use cell phones. What about drinking water? Oh yeah, freedom is more important. Easy for us to say, let's ask the Iraqis dying of thirst whether they want a glass of water or a glass of freedom.
We lost this war the day we didn't carpet bomb every village that insurgents hide in.
And there's the disgusting part of the thread. So let's wipe out untold numbers of innocent men, women and children so that we can play benefactor to a nation that doesn't want us there. Or is it better to slaughter innocent civilians so that a squad of Marines doesn't have to go into battle and die?
Note the thread title...did not say it was the ONLY story!
No but the VIDEO is titled "The
Real Story". That implies it's the only true story. That's wrong.
But alas! The United States doesn't win wars, because our "politically correct" Liberal "friends" and nay-sayers stand in the way...
And if the only way the United States can win a war is to slaughter everyone it sees then the United States does not deserve to win wars.
Damn! I'm so sick of faithless, nay-sayers and doomers, with their narrow vision and shallow minds...
And I'm so sick of people who think that America's interests are more important than the lives of people around the world. I'm so sick of people who despise Islam so much that they justify wiping out every living soul in the middle east because they don't like paying three bucks a gallon fill up their big ole pick-em-up trucks. I'm so sick of people who feel that
our version of freedom and democracy is the only right one and I'm so sick of people - one C-average fool in particular - that claim this is a "mission from god".
www.iraqbodycount.org Was it worth it?
after you answer that consider this: What the frak gives you the right to make that decision?
