The Nova just isn't working for me

Guys I gotta sell my 20ga Nova here soon. Too clunky, action is really rough and I keep short stroking the thing in trap, among other things. It's a little big too.

Now I held a few other shotguns for fit and suprisingly the 500 Bantam has the best ergonomics despite my frame, which is large-ish. The 870 Youth isn't bad but the forearm doesn't feel right to me.

Is it a bad thing that the youth models fit me best?

If thats what works sometimes the unothodox are the best despite all the hype. Reugerdude and i went to the national youth skeet tournament and he used a short barreled riot shotgun. If it works it works.

I'm in the same boat as you quite often. Some adult stocked long guns fit & shoot better than others, and some youths run a little too short. It depends on the clothing being worn sometimes. Usually I'm into the youths though and add a slip on pad if needed. The Browning ladies/youth 20 ga. fit me great, but was much more expensive. I'm still hunting for the perfect 12 ga. though with the view down the rib that I prefer. Maybe it still hasn't even been designed yet, but if I don't keep searching for it how am I supposed to know if it's available yet or not? It's certainly not as hard to let a gun go once I feel that it's not the right one for me, but even then, I find myself holding on to it just a little bit longer just to be sure. :D

Yup, don't worry about it being wierd. If it fits, it fits. Why worry about it.

Hey, having a youth stock isn't nearly as noticeable as an 18.5in. barrel!

I was gonna get rid of my 12ga Nova Tactical for the same reasons. When I finally figured out and did all the work to cut the stock down (to 12 3/4") 2" off SUDDENLY the thing
wasn't clunky , and I was able to stroke it fully and even reach the light on the mag tube!

Hmm, I dunno about cutting anything on the Nova since it's all one piece. That sloped sight ramp is a real PITA too, so it's not just the LOP issue.
