Come on everyone, It really don't matter who is President, even If Bush don't win, I for one will never give up my firearms, and probably neither would anyone on this board...
The govt. can pass all the silly laws they want but when It comes down to it....heck,
I know too many people who need firearms to feed their family.

I believe that there are more issues than the 2nd amendment at stake with this election. The 2nd amendment is one of the most important, but our freedom and our childrens futures are/were at stake.

Well, it's easy to say that now. It's a whole lot harder when the choice is to turn in your guns or go to jail. Or worse, if the SWAT team is breaking down the door and your choice is to give up and live, or die and risk your family's lives as well as yours.

When it comes right down to it, the Govt. does not have enough man-power to take all the weapons from Americians...
The political party that even tries this will never be in office again...
I agree that our childrens future is really at stake....
BTW----I voted for Gore-----
I just couldn't pull the handle for Bush who I think is an idiot......
I am ready for the flames.......

I am willing to wager you have no children nor a vested interest in one that requires a commitment beyond simple rhetoric.
Our children need nothing Gore will steal from them. PS - that's a Zen concept.

Simple rhetoric???? Don't think so..
I have been married for a dozen years (to the same woman)and have 3 children aged 14,10 and 7..
They are all well versed in the safety, use and importance of firearms...
I AM looking out for my childrens future..
I am only 36 years old and from what I understand from Bush's plan, they won't have a very good one, nor do I want my son in 4 years to have to go fight in some stupid war that Bush may get us into...ala Vietnam...
I am a working man and I don't think Bush is for the working man.....
My children come 1st........
and Gore himself is a hunter...

Does anyone on this board have the guts to admit they voted for Gore????
I wanted McCain to be our next President and I think the Republicans chose and idiot in GW..
BTW my wife voted for Bush.

W earned his bachelors degree from Yale and an MBA from Harvard. He also had 1206 (566 Verbal, 640 Math) on his SAT. (The average SAT score is about 900.)

What did you score on the SAT, dakodakid?

A Verbal 566 puts Bush at about the 95th percentile of juniors & seniors ..., while 640 on Math puts him at about the 98th percentile. In other words, only one out of 20 people would out perform the candidate on the verbal part of the test, and only one out of 50 on the numeric portion. Although SAT scores and IQ scores do not coincide perfectly, Bush's SAT score would roughly project to an IQ in the 125-130 range.

This whole "W is stupid" campaign tack infuriated me. It was pitched to the uneducated, unthinking morons in this country and was accepted by a lot of them. Guess who I'm talking to, dakodakid?

Yes, and I set out my reasons in a previous thread and received a few gratuitous insults for doing so.

Jeez, he made it into Yale with a 1206 SAT and poor high school grades? I knew "daddy" had a lot to do with getting him in but that's worse than I thought. (For the record, I don't think there's anything wrong with getting a 1206. I'm just surprised he got into Yale with that. I had assumed he had very high SATs to make up for his low grades.) And someone said Gore did _worse_ on the SATs?

Ok, my last post was a little hasty. SATs are basically meaningless tests IMHO. It's not an accurate measure of performance in college. All it really measures is test-taking skills, retention of vocabulary, and being able to do very specific types of math problems (ie, fairly short word problems). In the best of all worlds, we wouldn't use it for college admittance but instead use recommendations, interviews, etc. So, my point is I don't care how Bore or Gush did on the SATs. Their positions, ideas, and ability is a far more important matter.
