Sorry, Jim, but that ballot is obviously too complex and confusing for Floridians. The present system also uses some kind of hole punch process, and it is apparent that most of those people should not be allowed to play with sharp, pointed objects.

My suggestion is that each Florida voter be given a box of Crayons and drawings of the various candidates. The voter would color the candidate of his choice and tape it on the wall. Remember, coloring outside the lines invalidates your ballot.

sigmund,

Easy there partner. Floridians are actually a lot brighter than other folks. It's the lying Demotraitors that are at fault.

Brighter? And it's so CLOSE? You've gotta be kiddin'....

And we South Carolinians didn't have any trouble with our 'butterfly' ballots....

"brighter"?

From Reuters article:

quote:
Public dismay over the vote spilled into the streets.

In Tallahassee, about 200 to 300 people, most of them students, staged a silent sit-down protest in the seat of the state government over what they called voting irregularities.

``It's a silent protest to represent the voters not heard across the state of Florida,'' said Brad Francis, 18, a Florida A&M University student. ``We will stay until we are heard.''[/quote]

GOOD LUCK!

I think we should also have a recount of the votes in Tennessee just to rub in Gore's face the fact that his own people don't even like him.

Didn't mean to imply that everyone in Florida is an idiot. Watching the news, it appears that about half of them are. About half the people on the news had no problem with the ballot. And about half seemed to be of the opinion that the ballot was a little harder to understand than Homer's Iliad in the original Greek. Strangely, all of the first half were Republicans. And all of the second half were Democrats. Should we conclude that Florida Democrats shouldn't be allowed to play with sharp objects?

There there were the really brain-dead (and I know they have kin in other states) who went on TV and said I think I might have voted for somebody that I didn't want to vote for, so I want to sue somebody. I think that they have demonstrated the necessary IQ and competence to work as target holders at the local firing range.

Folks,

Keep in mind that millions of these so-called "Floridians" are actually interstate immigrants, many of whom have direct philosophical and political ties to places like New York, New Jersey, etc...

It's so bad now that Miami is commonly referred to as "New York South."
