Our Supreme Court seems to have four Justices that vote liberal and four that vote conservative, at least on most issues. In the child rape, death penalty ruling it was a five to four vote against the punishment. Thankfully, today's Heller ruling was in our favor, again in a five to four vote.

The one Justice that switched his leannings on these two cases was Anthony Kennedy.

Forget Pelosi, forget Bush, is Kennedy the most powerful person in American politics today?
 
But

He seems to be making more noise then the others. He seems to be able to shape public policy. Bush needs Congress to pass laws, Pelosi has over 400 others to contend with. Kennedy seems to be a one man show.

Imagine if a couple of his last votes had been different!
