The most accurate semi .308 under 4k...options?

Been searching for a accurate .308 (custom or stock) under 4k. The m21 with a krieger barrel looks great but then so many custom AR-10s like Les Baer are showing extreme accuracy as well. Anyone have any other ideas?

GA Precision out of Kansas City!! google it, because I'm not smart enough with this stupid "smartbox" contraption to post up the link.:o

I have a SA Supermatch I bought back in 1990 for a whole $1200 brand new. I imagine those have just about doubled in price now.

Sub MOA accuracy AND extreme reliability, a custom M14 built by Smith Enterprise, Inc.

Go with a Medium heavy barrel if you want a USGI synthetic stock.
Go with a standard or medium heavy weight barrel if you choose the SAGE EBR chassis.

This is one of my recent SEI builds, I used a Poly Tech receiver to lower the total cost.

Don't know if you're asking about paramilitary or any semi-auto .308 but the best I've ever shot, unmodified out of the box, was my Browning BAR Safari. 1/2" 100 yard groups first time at the range.
The most accurate bolt .308 I've ever owned was my Remington 700VS. 1/4" 100 yard groups unmodified out of the box.

I really appreciate all the input, but I think I should be a little more specific. I want a semi .308 that can shoot .5 MOA or under and is unquestionably reliable (and I do like tactical rifles). Ya, I know .5 MOA for a semi is rare but I have heard m21s and custom AR-10s getting .3 groupings. Anyone have much experience with anyone of the rifles RT or hooligan posted about? I have seen the Smith Enterprise m14s but can they shoot half an inch at 100yards?

When you say "most accurate" you are setting yourself up for failure.

Because while there are plenty of factory rifles, and even custom rigs, in your price range that are guaranteed to do sub MOA groups, the "most accurate" one will vary from day to day and ammo lot to ammo lot.

The easiest way to get into the accurate gas gun is to get an LR-308. They usually do sub MOA with match ammo.

If you want a custom solution you can contact GAP or Patriot Ordnance and have one built for you. But I recommend the LR-308 because unless you are a better shot than someone who normally asks about "the most accurate semi-auto 308 under 4K" you should try to spend around 1.5k on the rifle, 500 to 1k on the optics, and the rest on ammo.

If you're just shooting at 100 yards then get a bolt. 100 yards is fudd range. Find some place that goes to 1000 or you won't take advantage of any good AR-10. The GA Precision AR10 or the LMT MWS with about $1000 into a Vortex scope is a good start.

The best shooting AR .308 platform has NOVESKE on the barrel;)

My Noveske 21" stainless barreled AR10 consistently shoots 1moa with DAG surplus and half that with 168gr match grade ammo. It is a very easy rifle to shoot accurately. It has put my M1A's in to semi retirement.

Les Baer, GAP, LMT, or KAC would be my vote. Preferably KAC because i want a M110 or a MK11 bad, but they're over 4k i believe. GAP guarantees 3/4ths MOA accuracy or better.

They do use POF uppers, which is good but i like the look of a regular LMT or KAC over the POF rails and such. Sure it's not about aesthetics in some sense but i like my rifles to look the way i want them to.

LWRC REPR is also another to look at. It's right at 3k, i like the side charging handle also.

I'm not subject to the REPR i do like it. It's just when i first heard of it i looked up quite a bit of info on it.

Thanks for all of the feedback, but anyone have any info on the Fulton Dreadnought? I heard a Fulton Titan on this thread but nothing much else. Also I see alot of piston driven ARs here also, so are they more accurate than the conventional AR platform?
