the more I shoot my glock

the less I like it...
keep in mind when I started buying handguns again last year I had heard a lot of great things about the taurus pt140
so I bought one shot it for a while then saw a good deal on a glock g17 I rented one and compared to the taurus it shot great so I bought one then came the HS my 1911 springfield and my makarov
all three have great triggers and the glock has that annoying "sproing"
so the more I shoot my other guns especially the HS and 1911 the less I like the glock
glocks have there place and I won't sell it (the wife still loves it)
but I don't think I would ever buy another one what do you guys think?

I know what you mean about that "sproing" thing , I have Taurus PT138 and Glock 23, I like them both but will take on the Glock if I have to pick only one.:) .

The Glock's annoying trigger "sproing" is ALWAYS followed by a satisfying BANG when required.
More than can be said for a lot of "non-sproinging" triggers..;)

Free,

Try shooting faster. I find that if I'm shooting faster, the feel of the trigger is less apparent. Concentrate on the sight picture.

Give it a try.

I agree, the trigger feels terrible. At least you have a wife that likes A gun. So she has a home defense gun.

On top of that, Glock are arguably the ugliest modern gun made.

It is your money, why should you buy a gun with a bad trigger? Other designs are just as reliable as the Glock.

Trigger reset

Are you aware of the trigger reset?I once thought the trigger felt terrible. Then I realized not to release the trigger and reset it at short stroke 1/3 of the way back.Make sure the pistol is unloaded. With the pistol empty, rack slide by pulling back roughly 1 inch.Pull trigger, and hold trigger back, now rack slide back again 1 inch and slowly release trigger roughly 1/3 way back until you hear it click,it's ready to fire.Next time your at the range fire first round reset trigger by letting trigger reset by 1/3 short stroke.Ready for 2nd shot, and so on.It will improve on your shot groups and follow up shots.SAFE-SHOOTING!

I am self taught and started with glocks. Other than the trigger they are perfect. And with a case or two of ammo the trigger improves enough for me. I have revolvers and love their triggers, but I like the glocks lack of safety levers. I do want a 1911, just because I want one neat gun with levers, history and what not.

But when I wanted a 10mm I researched a few things. A glock 20 or 29 can take a 15 round magazine. You can add a hunting barrel to either one and an aftermarket recoil spring and shoot loads that most books no longer will print. I like the no care finish and I like the fact they are ugly. I do not care about wear or marks on them.

Everyone has a preference. I have shot a few other firearms and prefer a glock for simplicity. It is easy to clean, few parts to break, and I can totally dismantle the thing myself. I accept a soso trigger for these pluses.

Use what you enjoy and enjoy your life. :)

Like fine wines...

they all have their particular traits...some better than others, some not, but all quite respectable.

*** "fine" meaning quality.

The trigger is perhaps the most controveral feature of the Glock pistols and I base that on all the comments made here and on Glocktalk.

My comment after firinging almost 10k rounds thru my Glocks is that the more you fire them the more you will like them. I think that it is important to get the first joint of the trigger finger as close as possible, like firing a double-action revolver.
