The Legion is coming to my country... And it appears to be a bargain

Hi... so just to chat how messed up is the market in my country...

I don't understand variations in prices of guns that are very similar and come from the same place. Like glock usa vs mp9... I will post prices in a second. So the store that represents sig is bringing Legion guns.... at $2193  sounds outrageous? Look at the prices of these other pistols:

Beretta Nano $838

MP Shield $1096

PPQ $2064

VP9 $2000 to $2200

Glocks 9 mm all flavors $1750 to $2200 (depending on the shop and availability. For example the nearest shop to me that has a G26 is selling it for $2200)

MP9 $1290

Beretta M9A1 $1290

Regular P229 $1935

CZ RAMI 2075 safety model $1000

Plus... all of them with 2 mags and magazines are usually $80 to $100. So knowing that the legion comes with 3 mags... $100 more in savings right there....

While I am in the market for something lighter and maybe more compact than my beretta 92 compact... The Legion 229 looks like a really good priced pistol in comparison... and its nearly 4 ounces lighter than my beretta :D

And the one your talking about is $1935, wow man. I can't afford to live in that country. Actually I would just buy less guns and shoot more. How much is 100 rounds of 45ACP?

It is a deal in comparison to the others...

But is it the right pistol for your uses? The 229 is not a small pistol at all. At best it is only a little smaller than your 92.

If you need a small pistol, get a small pistol.

Hornady Critical Defense 45 Auto 185Gr $41 for 20 rounds

More or less the same for 50 rounds of FMJ

That country would force me into stamp collecting.

I have no intentions or money to get into gun collecting :-) I just have to be very careful with my purchases. Buying a gun is a real burden, you have to give the gunshop a lot of paperwork and then go to register the gun to your name, and then put it in your license if you want to carry it... all of that is time, money and tons of paperwork....

I bought the 92 compact thinking that it can be a do it all gun... and could certainly be... just got hooked into all of this deal of shooting and guns :-)

Yeah... I really don't know if I "need" a smaller gun... I have been carrying the 92 compact for almost a month now with a really bad holster and even worse belt, concealing only with a light t shirt. Carrying in a fanny pack sometimes. I guess with better belt and holster it would be much more confortable... not that it is painful... but could be better.

I would certainly love to have a gun that I can have on me always, in the same way always... Glock 26 would be perfect for that... but I feel like a sucker paying that much for a glock :(

While I agree that is a lot of money for a Glock and if it were me I might buy the MP9 instead, if your purchases are going to be rare and difficult, buying your "perfect" pistol and being done with it is my recommendation. Settling for something less than what we want to save a few bucks is almost always regretted.

Something like a shield is a good, "always on you" pistol. It is not a good range toy, as recoil is a bit brisk.

A Sig Legion is a good pistol, and cared for well (Sigs like a thin/light grease for lubrication of the rails) it should last a long time. It's a smoother pistol, and may carry more comfortably than the 92.

A Glock 43, is a good option... any sub compact single stack 9mm from a reputable company should serve well as a full time carry piece.

Prices are unfortunately what they are for you.

That is why I am thinking legion... When I bought the Beretta 92 compact I checked sigs and liked it a lot... Considered the 2022... Decided that wanted a hammer fired and I was between the 92 m9a1 and the 226... the 226 is almost $800 more. So I found the 92 compact with night sights and was in the middle of price too... So I bought it. Nothing wrong with it... love the pistol.

I don't really like a shield or nano to be my only gun, we have a lot of rural areas and lonely roads so I prefer to have a compact to full size gun most of the time. And I have been carrying and concealing the 92 compact just fine.

So I bought the 92 compact and while I love it I realized that (because I have those spikes when I move a lot in my work) it couldn't be an always on me gun. SO then I thought I would have done better buying the full size 92 which is like $300 cheaper and then buying a lighter gun like a G19 or something...

Now what I am thinking is getting the Legion 229 and selling my 92 compact. What I noticed is that because the 229 has less lines and ridges on the frame it is a little more confortable on the hip, and like I said it is a couple ounces lighter than my beretta. Also I could improved that with a better holster... because with these uncle mike style holster I feel every single line in the pistol on my side. After a while it get "poky".

You mean the lines of the gun and the controls? yeah that is my observation too...

Exactly... it is what it is. But I think about how overpriced are certain guns to make my decisions. For example I think at the end the legion 229 is going to be like $100 more than the regular 229. So the most overpriced is the regular 229.

And Glocks are the worst.... 4 time USA MSRP

I'd suggest you migrate to the U.S. but if the next election goe the wrong way we may end up even worse off than you

You know its funny....I think we all in the third world grow up thinking about going to the US. I taught myself english, and I have worked hard here... that is why I live a better life than the 99% of people here.

I have been denied the visa 4 times... they just won't tell me why. On the other hand I have seen many people get a visa and never comeback.

I guess in the back of my mind I still dream about living in the US, because the values system your country was founded on. Individual liberties, opportunities... I would make money in 10 different ways in the US :-) I do that here where its 10 times harder...

I hope everything goes well in this election for you guys... if not the whole world is screwed. Thanks to the US I am not living under communism... and I don't feel like living under sharia law either
