The last thing we need here is another CZ thread, but...

I can't help it.

A couple days ago I got an unexpected check for a fairly substantial amount of money (a company I had life insurance with switched from being a mutual company, i.e. owned by the policy holders, to being a stockholder company). Having been unemployed for a while there I used most of it for bills but I just had to use some of it for a new toy.

I have several guns on my "must have list" and I also REALLY want to replace my shotgun but I decided to finally buy the CZ75 that I wanted for so long. I just bought (today) a polymer finish, CZ 75 :D. The dealer sold it as a "Turkish Contract" gun but it isn't. It has a different number (I assume for the year), 99, and regular grips and the better finish of the standard CZ. However, at $399, it was $40 cheaper than the other CZs he had and it included the 15 round mag :D. I really want to try it today (and Sun when some of us TFLers in MD are getting together for a pistol shoot) but unfortunately MD has a 7 day waiting period . I can't wait.

When I finally get it next week I'll let you know how it goes.

You'll like it.
I'm trying to decide on a .45 pistol and I like my CZ 9mm so much,
I'm considering the CZ 97 B. Have not been able to shoot one, that's the problem, the local range has a Springfield that I shot and liked, sure would like to try the CZ.
Hope the next 7 days fly by.;)

The last thing we need here is another CZ thread, hmmmmmm
You did good. Actually what you got was this, the "mil" guns were in so high of demand..low cost, hi cap and it a CZ, that CZUSA ran out of real "mil" guns and had to complete orders with standard issue 75 B's. Most have the 99 year stamp on them.
You scored....pretty good deal. Enjoy your gun and shoot well

I picked up my CZ yesterday and I got to shoot it today. Man is it sweet. Accurate, feels great, terrific trigger pull (I like it anyway), great fit and finish outside (decent inside), and incredible reliability. I put 250 rounds through it to break it in without a hiccup and went to the counter at the range asking for something to trip it up, they gave me 50 UGLY hollowpoints and 50 rounds of the dirtiest lead reloads they sold- they guaranteed that it would jam the gun- it didn't. On top of that it is a relatively inexpensive gun. Definately one of the best deals out there (I will now finally shut up about the Ruger P-series, well probably not ;) ).

I have even caught the 9mm bug. I think I want a 9 for my next gun and I am a .45 guy. I was never completely happy with the one 9mm I had before because I wanted it to be a .45. Now, my 1911 will probably not come out to play for a while.

This is a keeper.

chaim, don't forget to pick-up the 22 conversion kit for the 75. Everything you like about the gun in 9mm holds true for it in .22LR! It's like 2 guns in 1 :)

I'm thinking about the .22 kit (almost bought it online before I even got my gun). I've seen it for $200 online so the price is nice and I've read great things about it on various boards. However, I am still building my collection, such as it is, and for $200 I'm tempted to add another actual gun (a Ruger MK II for a little more, a Beretta 21 pocket gun for about the same, a Pheonix Arms pocket gun with additional extended 8" barrel for a little less) and wait on the kit a little while. Though the kit actually being a CZ is a plus.

I really love this gun. Took it back to the range yesterday and today. Yesterday I shot another 200 rounds (total 550) and today another 100 (650 total) without cleaning it after yesterday. I did have one minor hiccup but it was minor and I figure it was probably from not cleaning after yesterday plus not having much oil on the rails. Anyway, one minor hiccup after 650 rounds (some quite nasty) seems pretty decent. I am fairly accurate with it. Also, today I got a compliment on this gun from one of the range/gunshop personnel (and they don't sell CZs) which is a first for me.

Oh yeah, my 1911 has not come out to play since I've had the CZ. I like it but I really love the CZ. Well, I may need to sacrifice :D and bring it out with the CZ next time so it doesn't feel left out. My .357 I love so much has also undergone the same fate (that is saying more than you know) so that is one heck of a testiment for this CZ. I may have to make a point to have a range trip for these two, I guess I'll just have to go back to the range tomorrow:D .

I know what you mean...my CZ's are shooters for sure. I love my Compact and will get the 22 Kadet kit for it...cheap fun. Glad you like the bad boy....Shoot well

Thanks for the info Eric

I bought a similar 75B at gunshow last month. Although billed as "military" Turk surplus, it is stampled 99 and had the non target grips. Priced at $40 less than the standard 75B. I snatched it up. I wondered how it came to be in that configuration.
Good shooter but mine started FTE around 200 rounds shooting UMC and Win white box fmj's. A dollop of oil on the rails soon had it going again. I think I either ran it too dry initially or got some weak ammo. Haven't had a chance to shoot since.

chaim..enjoy!
good shootin',

I've heard that they don't like to run dry (and my one hiccup was probably due to being a bit dry so I believe it) but if it is kept oiled they are supposed to work fine. I'm going to use some Remington DryLube on mine so that I won't have to be as careful about this (though when I'm not trying to trip up my guns to see what they can handle I usually do keep them well oiled).
