The House did it to us, what will The Senate do?

Re H.R. 418, notwithstanding such adverse constituent comment as there might have been, a questionable degree of "openendness", and other aspects thereof, unless I misunderstood what I heard on a newscast, our congress critters did it again, that is to say the above mentioned legislation passed The House.

With such people standing guard we surely can sleep safe in our beds, provided that is, that our "nightstand" pistols are cocked and locked.

Will The Senate do better, who knows? Perhaps he answer to that question depends on the "politics" of the matter, which includes the amount of heat that Senators get from their constituents.

I thought it quite innocuous at first, but the more I thought about it the more I realized the enormous potential for abuse.

National ID Cards-R-US

Personally I am VERY leary of this propositon. It equates to national ID cards and is way too big brother for me. It is actually an issue that I find myself in total agreement with the ACLU. I really hope it gets axed in the Senate.

I have a SS # on a card. How much more national ID do I need? What do you think the magnetic strips on credit cards and state-issue driving licenses are for?

The potential for abuse and criminal acts using the information to be contained on these proposed ID cards is enormous. This is just another blatant affront to the basic legal and moral principles of this country and should be vigorously opposed.

And sadly it is just another sign of the kind of current leadership we have in this country. They need to go find a homeland of their own.

Did any of you, in any way at all, contact your congress critters PRIOR to passage of 418?

Judging from one reply in particular, I guess that the answer would be NO. Sad, but so be it.

Going on from this point, do you anticipate or have you already bee on to your U.S. Senators re this legislation? I you haven't or aren't, what's stopping you?

I had never heard of this bill till Wed. It needs to be stopped To much big brother.
