The Honey Hole

I'm heading out later tonight to my little honey hole in the Panhandle of Texas.I'll try to slip in between 0400-0500 and be on stand before 0600.Hopefully my stealthy entry will be unintrusive enough to get one of those big boys on the ground. The bucks should be in recovery mode from the rut, weary, hungry and hopefully out during shooting light.Wish me luck gentleman.........I'll post pics if indeed I tag out.

Scored on a nice management 8 point.Only took a pic of the buck where he fell in the creek.Once I figure out how to post pics here I'll get it up.

It's in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) .... but it also purports to tell you you can repost pics you posted in another thread, from your "album" .... I have not figured that out ..... :(

Next step.......

Well I was going to include a hanging skinned pic as well as a deboned Vaccum sealed pic......says the images are too big???

I'm not an image wizard, Whistle, but if you figure it out, there's a stickey'd thread in The Hunt subforum that you should post in if you have helpful "how to" stuff.... folks are asking for pics .....

That appears to be a good sized deer in the pic....what'd it weigh field dressed?
I'm guessing but probably 160ish,and he is the smallest buck I have ever harvested on this property.Thats one thing about the panhandle deer.......there are no lightweights.4 years ago, same property,I took a 9 point that field dressed 196.Guy I know who hunts property about 3 miles south has two in the last 5 years that field dressed over 2 bills and I don't know how many they have taken in the 175 and up field dressed. There is a commercial operation farther south near the river that consistently harvest big deer. Not sure what they charge but word on the street is lots of happy customers and plenty of repeat business.

As I was told on occasion by a far-&-away better woodsman:
"He who spends the most time in the woods get's his deer."

Congratulations Whistlebritches.
