As I recall the High Road forum is a sister site of The Firing Line. So does anyone know what's happening over there. The whole forum is in-accessible and has been all afternoon. Hope they were not hacked!

Things go down from time to time. It will be back up, shortly. That seems to be the usual pattern.

Long story short - the power company that supplies power to the THR system and others decided to change the power pole during the day. They thought they could do it without power interruption - they were wrong. The THR server went down without a clean shutdown. Derek, the sysop, got in there and had to mop up all the data that spilled out onto the floor and put it back in the right place. Looks like he got it right.

Mal H indeed Derek did a great job, IMO you all do.

Was a little worried they got hacked and held for ransom! But that sounds like something our cable co would do!

OK, THR was down, now it's up. There's no further need to keep this thread open. THR may or may not be a good site. Those opinions are free for anyone to have. To come here at TFL and bash them? Not gonna happen.
