Being able to reload for a few different rifle calibers and a handgun or two. I do have a couple I find more pleasing to shoot most of the time within the realm of modern weaponry. They are:

1. 270-Winchester- Remington Model 700 Mountain rifle.

2. 22-cal.-S&W Model 41 semi-auto--w/ 5-1/2 Barrel.

I'm curious as to what others consider their preferences?

My faves are .270 win Savage 110 "flat top", 7mm rem mag Weatherby Vanguard, 30-06 Savage 111, .243 win Zastava Mauser,,:)
 
Changes hourly.

But I'll try....
.22 RF (don't shoot them much) - Ruger Standard Automatic (bought it in 1969).
Center fire pistol - S&W Model 29-2, light lead loads, don't have to pick up brass.
Center fire rifle - hard..... Maybe my AR-180. Just bang away, loading has been a set standard for 30 plus years.

Others make me have to/want to think about how the loads are running.

Ruger M77 MkII in .204Ruger, because it's sub-1/2 MOA accurate has almost no recoil and shoots "laser" flat.

Second is my 15" Encore Pro Hunter in 7mm-08. It's got the BOOOooom!!... What the heck was that!!:eek: factor.:D
 
My favorite gun to load for and shoot is my Winchester Heavy Varmint in .220 Swift. Thing is a SOMKE POLE!

I also really enjoy wasteing home-made ammo out of my Ruger SR556E. That hting can chew up the pop cans at 75! It costs me more than the price of a new gun each month, and I grow my own hay to feed it!
 
I would have to say my custom original engraved Sharps-Borchardt panelled action,
Shillen 26" oct. barreled .22 Hornet.
For rimfire..1933 BSA 12/15 custom prone match rifle with heavy 1" at muzzle, 30" H.M. Pope barrel.
Rimfire revolver...Orignal Bisley frame with custom 7 1/2" barrel & 1pc. Ivories
C.F. revolver..Original 7 1/2" Bisley .32 WCF. Stag grips.

Not to be sarcastic but it is generally the gun I am holding in my hand.

The one I fell in love with but never got was a Colt Sauer 300 Win Mag. Held it at the gunrunner shop in Vider TX.

The bolt slid out with one finger and felt like I was sliding my finger over a lightly oiled precision machined tool bench. "smooth as a babies but", In 1975 the price was 1800 dollars. Way beyond my LTs budget.
 
I do enjoy shooting all my guns. I wouldn't have bought them (or kept them) if I didn't.

However, I keep surprising myself to realise that the guns I "enjoy" shooting the most are my .22 pistol and rifle.

It is such an undemanding cartridge to fire: no fatigue, no financial angst, accurate.

So glad I bought them....

I have two Belgium-made Browning grade II BAR's that I got from my Grandpa. One in .243 and one in .270.

For pure fun, I prefer the .243; if I get serious about putting meat in the freezer I prefer the .270. Those two guns are the absolute last guns I would get rid of and heaven help me if I ever have to choose between the two.
 
One gun that I just enjoy shooting is a Smith and Wesson model 2206. Fun little .22 cal, next to no recoil and accurate as anything.
 
Remington 722 in 257 Roberts. Purely, a hand load proposition. The factory loads do not allow the full potential of this round to be utilized.

Rifles? Oh man, tough choice. I like shooting any rifle. I'm real partial to my 45/70 GG right now. There's something about that overall combination of big bore and simple compact design that just speaks to me. It's nostalgic, yet modern, powerful, yet compact, simple, yet versatile, loudenboomer, yet not excessive, antiquish, yet keeps up with the times. What's not to like? It's a very fun carbine.

But the current one is my set of Beretta NEOS pistols and Carbine:

I have one 6" pistol with a reflex sight,,,
One 4.5" pistol with a reflex sight,,,
One as a carbine with a red dot,,,
I have 9 magazines for them.

For pure fun at the range these are hard to beat. :D

Some times the 22 RF doesn't quite cut it for me either. No 45 revolver here. But I will at times take my Colt Series 70 Gold Cup out for a little practice. Double taps are always fun on silhouette targets at 7-8 yrds. Especially with the 45-acp. Nice thing about the 45. >You can see the holes it makes without the need to reel the target in I.e. more shooting less diddling with the target..:cool:
 
Hooligan how is the Zastava? i was thinking of buying one in 6.5x55 for open sight practice.

my m96 swede is my fun go to for now, and the lee enfield no 1 mk3 is always fun
 
I have a heck of a lot of guns, each time I get one out of the safe I think its the Gun of Guns. Then comes the next one.

I suppose if I really had to pick one, It would have to be my SC 1903A3.

For a hand gun, I guess it would be my old service revolver, 4in Model 28. The one I was issued and carried most of my 20 years in LE and my department gave me when I retired.
