Where is the serial number located on my shotgun? I was given this shotgun in the late 50's or early 60's, it was used but in great condition. It is inscribed "THE FULTON" on both sides, the butt has a hunting dog with a bird in its mouth. The barrel is inscribed Hunter Arms Co. Inc. M F R S Fulton NY USA.

FULTON

Is a trade name marked on shotguns made by W>H> Davenort firearms co of Norwich CT.

The was also incorperated by Hunter Arms Co of Fulton NY. (maker if L.C. Smith)

era is probably early 1900's

The Fulton was an entry level boxlock made by the firm that made LC Smith also.

While inexpensive, it was well made. I've handled and shot a few and liked them.

Do have a good smith look it over before firing. Chances are it's chambered for ammo shorter than that commonly used today.
