The Free Speech Zone in Boston

Hard Ball

"An area designated for organized protests Has been enclosed by mesh and chain link fencing near the site of the upcoming Democratic National Convention, in Boston, Wednesday, July 21, 2004. A new federal lawsuit has been filed against the city over the fenced-in protest area that has been called a 'demonstration zone,' and a 'free speech zone"

A wonderful example of the liberal democratic machine in action!

so does that not violate free speech? i mean aren't we, as a society, allowed to demonstrate whereever we want? seems like the democrats want a "protest" contained and controllable if you ask me.

"the truth is out there"

Umm, er, ah, speaking as a life-long Republican....

The advent of "Free Speech Zones" rose out of the ashes of 9/11, as a means of protecting the current Commander-in-Chief.

This had been purely a Republican contriviance, until this Boston thing.

Not that I'm making excuses, or condoning the practice in either case. :(

I think there were free speech zones before that. I recall some stuff about free trade meetings somewhere. A bunch of bull if you ask me. Cowards afraid to look at what's really going on.
