The evil empire

Mr Howard, on the eve of his 10th anniversary in office, said the nation's grief over the 1996 Port Arthur massacre had been a great opportunity to tighten Australia's gun laws.

"There are some things about America I admire and there are some things I don't.

"And one of the things I don't admire about America is their ... slavish love of guns. They're evil."

so what do all you "evil" gun owners think.

BTW... you can e-mail the PM and tell him what a swell fellow he is

be polite.....

"evil" is a very subjective idea. there are people in this world who believe money, photography, medicine, and video games are evil

I hope that this guy never in a situation when he, his loved ones, and his friends really needs guns and don't have any - even though I think they deserve it.

I think that the mother character in "The Water Boy"(Adam Sandler), was loosely based off this guy. Everything is "the Devil".

The Australian government is therefore evil by his own definition

so what do all you "evil" gun owners think.
If gun owners are evil, The Founders of this nation must have been demons sent from the pit of hell. I say we are in good company.:D :D

By the way... If gun owners and guns are "evil," how does this moron explain that his own government is armed to the teeth? Doesn't that make the Australian government evil?? Or does he issue a special dispensation for government workers who are armed to the teeth that makes them good?:barf: :barf:

The only evil I see is in disarming ordinary lawful citizens.

Less than 20 million people and they call themselves a country? Okay, but do they really need 6 states? With the federal gov, the state govs, and the local govs, it looks like they've got about as many politicians as they do people (and sheep.)

An ounce of prevention is worth a lot of pounds pilled up inside the house.

I hope he doesn't learn that the hard way, but unfortunatly someone living in his country will.

If Australia is ever threatened by invasion again as they were in the 1940s they will happy to see evil Americans come to their rescue again.

Same as anywhere

A basically safe country, concerned about firearm-related deaths, (%-wise insignificant) resorting to knee-jerk, feel good laws that result in the exact opposite outcome intended. Their solution will be more restrictions on more inate objects ad infinem until all murder ceases.

Australia is a perfect Galapogos island for firearm laws. An entire continent controlled by one government! Outlaw all firearms there, watch the crime rate, watch the tourism money and conclude deductions of such lunacy openly!

"Slavish love of guns"???? If not for guns, we'd be slaves! (or maybe subjects!)
I love freedom, not the tool that enabled it.
I love my home, not the 2x4.
I love my parents, not the DNA.
Take away the 2x4s, I've got no home.
Take away the DNA, I've got no parents.
Take away my firearm, I've got no freedom.

Go ahead, ban all firearms in every country, including the US. Then I'll relocate to Texas!
