-Multiple current wars, and closing in on future wars maybe nuclear in middle east... you know, near Armaggedeon; Where the armies of the four corners of the world are already assemblied...
-Religious fanaticism at it's worst.
-Earth shaking things up-- Hurricanes, earthquakes, Tsunamis...
-Many places at the brink of civil war.
-Complacency towards sin... (homosexuality, abortion, false idols etc.) Not personal views, just doing this from a christian persective.
- how many are translating Ezekial 39 as a reference to Russia fighting against Israel in the final battle (by helping Iran) and Sending unto both cities fire that destroys all things.( nuclear war)
Okay so you take that and combine them with the Bird Flu's and other diseases and you get quite a "christian" biblical view of the end times. But of course in defense you say every generation thought they were close, and that almost every generation could point to events in their own times that also match these vague descriptions left behind in biblical and other religious texts.

After looking at the world around me, Seeing us living in the most violent century in recorded history, seeing how we fight, even with each other on how to defend our country. I will tell you one thing... If we get "national" ID card issued because of this Illegal immigrant thing or because of terrorism or some other reason that need to be used to conduct normal daily business. If I see 666 ANYWHERE on the id number. I am personally going to freak out...
