Remember how some people said "If they can infringe on the Second Amendment, what's to stop them from infringing on all of them?" The answer was usually something along the lines of "It can't happen" or "They couldn't do that."

Well, in reality....the joke about having a waiting period before publishing your article so the government can check your fact.....

Reporters covering the upcoming state trial of convicted Yosemite Park killer Cary Stayner are being required to undergo fingerprint checks by authorities concerned about security.

So, I guess if a reporter has, say, an old assault arrest, he or she won't be allowed to excercise their First Amendment Right.

This should be interesting to see where it goes.

. . . I'm going to use it on those reporters who pooh-pooh the Slippery Slope theory.

If the authorities can get away with this, then it will become the norm. Maybe, just maybe, some of 'em will see the correlation.
