You can't argue with the "facts":

1. The more helpless you are, the safer you are from criminals.
2. An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot
with a .357 magnum will get angry and kill you.
3. A woman raped and strangled is morally superior to a woman with a
smoking gun and a dead rapist at her feet.
4. The Second Amendment, ratified in 1787, refers to the National Guard,
which was created 130 years later, in 1917.
5. A handgun, with up to 4 controls, is far too complex for the typical adult
to learn to use, as opposed to an automobile, that has 20 controls.
6. Guns cause violence,which is why there are so many mass killings at
gun shows.
7. Police operate with backup and in groups, which is why they need larger
capacity pistol magazines, as opposed to "civilians" who must face
criminals alone and therefore need less ammunition.
8. "Assault Weapons" have no use other than to kill large numbers of people;
the police need assault weapons. You do not.
9. Trigger locks do not intrefere with the ability to use a gun for defensive
purposes, which is why you see police officers with them on their
duty weapons.
10. Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) thinks that a concealed carry permit will
not help prevent personal crime, which is why she has one.

Gun control has nothing to do with fighting crime.
It has nothing to do with public safety.
Gun control is about disarming the public so that the Big Gub'ment will have greater power, control and authority over those of us who are their subjects in the Great Marxist Welfare State they have attempted to build now over the past three decades.
When you see some bonehead babbling about sensible measures remind him that sometimes there are issues that are right and wrong and that his idea of a sensible measure would by nature be half wrong.
For decades now the Left has chipped away and chipped away and chipped away at our right to defend ourselves. And crime did not decrease. But when the Right started pushing for CCW laws in over 30 states, crime DID decrease.
Gun Control only works at creating peasants out of free men.
 
Funny thing, most of the gun haters I know don't have quite so complex reasoning. Their reasoning is more along the lines of...

Guns are dangerous.
You don't need a gun.
Guns are often used by bad guys.


The list given is way over thought. Few that I know, gun owning or gun hating, know who Diane Feinstein is and probably none know she has a carry permit. The gun haters have no concept of how many rounds the cops can carry versus civilians and didn't know about the differences during the ban.
 
Far too much thinking went into that

Usually it is:
Criminals use guns to kill people (kids), therefore Guns should be banned.

If it is not that it is:
You don't need a gun, you have a (cell) phone and can call 911.

OR:
Why would you need a gun, are you a gang member/drug dealer? (note this was used both when pagers and cell phones first came out, and persists until its use is needed)

Fear is the motivator for anti-gunners. SOF uses too much logic to be real life, funny/unfortunate as it is.
