The King of Great Britain did several things causing us to declare our independence. One of these was:
"He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power."

What is your interpretation of this?

If you're asking what did the King do that caused this sentence to be included:

1. Dissolution of the local legislatures on a number of occasions.

2. Military governorships, specifically in Boston after the Boston Tea Party.

3. Disbanding of local militia units.
