And soon I'll only be able to shoot on weekends.

So, I went straight to the range after work yesterday,,,
Put 200 rounds of .22 LR downrange,,,
And a little bit of .380.

Not so much "serious" training,,,
Just keeping my finger trigger ready was all.

Because of the recent thread on dual-wielding,,,
I hauled out the Bersas and tried it again.

Arms extended almost all the way at a 15 yard distance,,,
I kept 10 shots of rimfire and 7 of 380 on a man sized silhouette,,,
Even though it is definitely not an acceptable combat style, what fun that was! :D

It was pleasant to just turn some money into noise for a change,,,
It was a very relaxing and therapeutic hour and a half.

Despite what some curmudgeons say,,,
Guns are very fun toys.

I just need some fine matched pairs like you have Aarond, and a range that wouldn't boot me from the line for doing something like that. Then I would be right there with ya on occasion. I guess once I get a set I'll have to take a short trip into Nevada :D

Guns are very fun toys.

As the old cliche goes: The difference between men and boys are the price of the toys. How true. I find guns to be one of my favorite, and least expensive toys.

I still don't consider firearms of any sort to be toys, but they are great fun to shoot at the range. I put 100 rounds of .357 Magnum 125gr screamers down range this morning, and had a great time. I'm just like a kid in school, I bring home my targets so my wife can admire, or pretend to admire, my handiwork.

I also enjoyed the quite time I spent, on the back deck, cleaning my revolver when I was done shooting.

That's the only thing I miss from my black powder days,,,

...cleaning my revolver when I was done shooting.

After all the shooting was done,,,
Sitting around a bench with friends,,,
Cleaning our guns and passing the scotch around.

fun guns

Whoever says guns arnt fun, should shoot my AO1928A1 Tommygun!!! If you dont have a "grin on" after that, you must be a "Zombie"!!!!

You have a tommy gun?,,,

Now I know we hafta meet up at the Rifle and Pistol club someday. :D

I got to fire 100 rounds from one back in the early 60's,,,
I was maybe 11 or twelve years old at the time,,,
The owner was an Oklahoma County Sheriff,,,
Childhood friend of my dad.

Definitely raised my testosterone level that day. ;)

Which of my guns would you like to shoot,,,
I'll have em cleaned, lubed, and ready.

This is something I continually harp on to just about anyone who will listen.

At the end of the day, pretty much all types of firearm usage, excluding LE, military, SD and farming purposes should be fun.

I see it all the time at the summer camp I work at, a Scout, his Scout master, or parent gets so worked up about Tenderfoot Timmy getting the rifle merit badge, or the instructor is so worried about getting all of his kids to qualify, that the fun of the program is sucked right out of it.

It happened to my best friend/range buddy/rifle team companion when he began to qualify for state and national championships, the ammount of time he spent practicing made the sport un-fun.

We have long since pasted the part of our nation's evolution where a firearm was a necessary tool in every household.

Get out there and shoot for fun!

I too prefer to shoot outdoors but use an indoor range during the cold months (wow is it more expensive). I take it that you don't have one nearby?

-Cheers

Hello P92,,,

I take it that you don't have one nearby?

Nearest ones are in Tulsa or Oklahoma City.

I wouldn't/don't enjoy indoor ranges anyways,,,
Too restrictive in what you can do,,,
Way too expensive for me.

My range is the Stillwater Rifle & Pistol club,,,
Each member is a rangemaster,,,
Very open and free.
