The Courts Aren’t Going To Give You Anything You Can’t Take For Yourselves

That’s the argument in the above thread summarized. I think it has merit. In my opinion, we’re past the point where we can rely on fair process from our government to adhere to the rules laid out in the Constitution.

We are now in the phase where you get whatever you can win or credibly threaten to win. It is all about leverage now. I don’t think that’s a positive development and even if it goes the best way I imagine it will be horrible; but I feel like we’ve been at this point for many years now. In my view, we’re in the Sulla/Marius phase now... and even if Sulla/Marius wins, he’ll have to condemn his best supporters to support the war costs.

I’ve been wrong before though and I’d really like to be wrong now.

15 days until the gathering, 16 days until the gun rights are gone, 17 days until we see who blinks first.

Probably can't hurt, but it reads like a transparent attempt to shame SCOTUS into action

better writers than those at the link have tried and failed for years

We can only lose what we allow them to take.

Great slogan. Not so true in the real world, though.

Anyone who has ever been defeated (at anything) despite trying their absolute hardest knows this.

We absolutely do lose what we allow them to take, but we can also lose what we cannot prevent them from taking, no matter how much we try.

My point here is that resisting to the absolute fullest of our ability and still losing is NOT "allowing" the other side to win.

Except for the fact that we are not "resisting to the absolute fullest", not even close.
So yes, we are allowing them to take our rights.

people have "God given" rights, governments have people given powers. people are suppose to control the government, not the government controlling the people.

"Resisting to the absolute fullest," would entail using lethal force against the government. I suspect there wouldn't be many takers who would murder and then be killed or imprisoned because the government wouldn't allow stuff like concealed carry, the use of "high capacity" magazines, etc.
