Apparently, Carnahan is ahead in the poles over Ashcroft. If this is true, we REALLY need to get those Republicans, that usually don't vote, to the poles and make sure this doesn't happen.
Here in Missouri dead people have voted for politicians for years. I guess the tables are turning and now live people are voting for dead politicians.
Seriously, this could be a major issue as Carnahan's name must remain on the ballot due to the way the law is written and if he wins, the governor can select the person of their choice to fill the vacancy.
I talked with Ashcroft's office yesterday. They are saying that the new governor (I forget his name) has said if Carnahan is electeed he will offer the senate seat to his widow first. If she does not want it he will then ask someone else. Another democrat no doubt. It seems we can't get a break. Even after dying Carnahan is still screwing Missourians. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these people vote for him in the next election in two years as well.(Now, where is the really, really disgusted with stupid voters emotcon?)

I was promised a Shortycicle and I want a Shortycicle!
When the plane augured in, they promptly canonized him in the St. Louis media. Heck, you can't speak badly about a dead guy, right.
Ashcroft needs to hit a couple of ads encouraging folks not to vote for the Party Machine. Remember - dead candidates DO get voted for, and more than occasionally elected. And dead candidates wives get elected too - Remember Bono?
