The Associated Press and the Palm Beach recount: one small article, two big lies

As I read this short article, it contains two big lies, one that is clearly stated and one that is clearly implied. The Dems are already running with the lies, but hopefully they won't get very far.

Lie #1 (stated): that Florida Secretary of State Harris arbitrarily cut off and then refused to honor the Palm Beach recount. In fact, she was obligated to stick to the schedule established by the Florida Supreme Court, and she did so. Palm Beach simply failed to meet this schedule, apparently due to inadequate planning, which unfortunately has not prevented its election officials from lying, whining and finger pointing.

Lie #2 (implied): that the outcome of the election would have changed and Gore would have won if Secretary of State Harris had certified the Palm Beach recount as completed after the court-imposed deadline. Of course, the outcome would not have changed. But the Dems are spinning it like it would.

There's no way the AP can be dumb enough not to see the truth. So I figure that this article is another instance of media/Democrat connivance. It's like the Dem lawyers are writing the news for the AP.

From what I've seen, the AP is not to be trusted.

My favorite example was when they ran that photo of Elian Gonzalez and the goon with the 'assault weapon'. The AP refers to all kinds of firearms in civilian hands as 'assault weapons'. But, when confronted by a photo of just such a weapon, but in the hands of a government agent, the AP referred to it as a 'rifle'.

As I understand it, the AP is a co-op between the major media in this country. That is, it is essentially a consortium, whose members are mainly the liberal, mainstream media. We should not be surprised at the result.

I understand that the PBC supervisors had to spend a day in court due to being sued by the Gore crowd - a day lost that would have given them enough time to finish the count.

If the count was down to the last few hours, why didn't these "party faithful" spend two hours on Thanksgiving to finish up the vote, OR come in two hours earlier?

Typical "it's not my fault" liberal whining. They refuse to look in the mirror and see who the real culprits are.

The AP got my first Joseph Goebbels award via the Las Vegas News Journal after they ran an anti-gun "news" article by them.

They are the orginal media whores for the Left.

No, I can't say I'm really surprised. But whenever I foolishly guess that the media have done all the sorry propagandizing they possibly can, they perpetrate some new outrage that gets me riled again. I probably ought to just hunker down and expect the worst on a perpetual basis.

My beloved told me that if I didn't stop listening to the mainstream media he was going to unplug the T.V.

He's worried about my blood pressure. :)

Seriously I have a suggestion to all those who are raising children. Watch the mainstream media with your children at least once a week. The news specifically. While you are watching point out all of the partisan stuff that takes place. For instance.

Biased Reporting-"The vote total certified by Kathryn Harris, (a Bush supporter), gave George W. Bush a (razor thin) 537 vote lead over Al Gore."

Unbiased reporting-"The vote total certified by Kathryn Harris gave George W. Bush a 537 vote lead over Al Gore.

After awhile your children will be able to discern medai bias for themselves. We are now to the point where it has become a very entertaining game to see who can point out the largest number of biased statements. Since our children will grow up to vote we want them to be able to do this by themselves.

My beloved also says that this helps them to understand why mommy yells at the T.V. :)
